Totally AW/OT

I just let DS help me put together breakfast burritos for the freezer. I've never had him help in the kitchen before and he LOVED it!  He helped me set up the tortillas, put the cheese in and then "helped" me squeeze the beans out of a pastry bag.  And now he's happily eating the fruits of his labor for dinner.  I need to do this more often.

ETA: Oh I neglected to mention that he had a temper tantrum when we were done because apparently he wants to work in a burrito factory now, lol.

  • Too cute! We got Rosie one of those learning towers for this very reason. She loves to help me bake and cook now.

Are those the stool type things that you can buckle them into?  I want something like that.
  • We have one like this:

  • That's awesome.  Me wanty.
  • They call them little helper, they are expensive, but I don't think the price is important when you want your kids to help. It's something the I'm planing to get too.

OMG Stoney I wanted to post an OT food/baby post so I'm going to join in on your awesome cuteness. I was making cornbread today and Maia watched from the swing so I narrated all the steps to her. She was loving it and smiling and cooing along. Then I was spooning out the bacon fat into a bowl to melt and with each tbs that I announced she threw up her arms and cheered. I'm totally raising a foodie.
    LOL! Mini Emeril!

You can also build your own helper station if the storebought ones are too expensive. My husband and I built a lot of our furniture and it's fun to be able to customize it. Here are some DIY plans if any of you would be interested:

Thanks! My DH's BFF is super into woodworking.  Maybe I can convince them to do this project together.
  • Those towers look awesome. Makes me wish for a bigger kitchen ...
  • I was looking at diy towers on pinterest this morning. DD is a little young, but they grow fast :). That's awesome that he enjoyed helping!
