19 MO standing in crib at night

My DD has been able to fall asleep on her own since she was 7 months old or so. She suddenly decided this week that she is going to stand in her crib after we leave her room at night. She's not crying or even making a peep really, just looks like she is watching the door, waiting for one of us to come back in. We've gone back in (the first couple nights after 15 min or so, last night I waited about 45 min), laid her back down and rubbed her back and she fell asleep after another 10 min. It's obvious that she is really tired but I'm not sure what is going on with the standing? It looks like her eye teeth are starting to come through and has had some issues with falling asleep before while teething. It's just so weird that she isn't fussing at all while standing.... anyone else experience this? Suggestions on what to do? Thanks so much!!

  • Agree.  What's the issue exactly?  My kids do all kinds of silly shit in their beds before they go to sleep.  As long as they aren't upset or upsetting the other we just let them go.

  • Yes, video monitor. The first night it looked like she had fallen asleep while standing and twitched which made me think she was going to fall and bump her head. After waiting about 45 min last night I was just worried about her getting enough rest I guess, she's usually in bed by 7:30-8 pm, up at 6 am. Hopefully it's just a phase.

    Thanks for the comments.
