Best educational apps?

I need some apps for DS1 (4) and DS2 (2) for our long plane ride coming up soon. Please recommend some good ones…..We don't do a lot of electronic devices so I would love for them to actually learn instead of the angry birds most of their friends are constantly playing.

Elmo ABCs is probably the best money I ever spent for an app. Your two year old will probably love it. The Toca Boca ones are fun - they pride themselves on making electronic "toys" instead of "games" so their stuff tends to be open-ended, no scoring, etc. Endless alphabet/numbers/reader are cool but can get expensive because you have to keep adding stuff on to them. We recently downloaded Little Writer to help DS work on forming his letters and he likes it a lot.
