Recommend your highchair

Do you have a highchair you love? We have one my sister loaned us but I hate the tray, it is very hard to get on and off and you can forget about folding it. Now that I have started using it several times a day I want to replace it. Recommendations?

Re: Recommend your highchair

  • I second the Graco blossom. It's versatile that you can easily convert it and wheels easily from room to room which I need. The tray pops out easily for cleaning.

We actually use a clip on high chair and love it.  We have the Phil and Teds lobster chair.  It takes up no floor space, and we take it with us to restaurants or when we travel.

  • We also have the Graco Blossom and love it. Tray is easy to remove and everything is pretty easy to clean. I like being able to roll it around as well.

  • We have this one, the fox and friends. We have a big bar top in our kitchen and that's where we eat dinner I love that that it slides in so close. It also looks nice. It's awesome to clean too the wood wipes down so easy. It can also recline back. image
  • Another vote for the graco blossom. We also have an inglesina chair for traveling that we like. The inglesina is also a great option for grandparents since its so compact

  • We actually have the space saver and I LOVE it! So easy to clean, doesn't take any extra space. I don't understand the need for a separate high chair :) love my space saver!!

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B003U9V18S We have this high chair. It's simple but we love it. It folds up easily and is very portable. It has the tray insert that pops off for cleaning. The tray doesn't come all the way off, but swings off to one side when you un-latch it. It is very easy to wipe down and clean. And it's a great price!
We have this one too (in lime green).  I like it, but don't love it.  I love the way it looks and it folds up really small which is great in our tiny NY apartment.  The tray is super easy to clean which is great but when she's in it I feel like she's really far away from the tray.  That's my only complaint really.  She drops tons of stuff down the front of her because it's a far reach (though she's pretty small).  Overall, I'm happy with it, especially for our situation.  It's much smaller than many we looked at.

We have the Graco DuoDiner LX.  No complaints.

@olga1311‌ I actually really liked the space saver until we started more finger foods. I didn't think the seat sat up as straight as I wanted it to and it seemed like DS had trouble reaching to get pieces of food even with the tray all the way in. I also wasn't a fan of the fabric seat, with a very messy eater I was washing it a lot!

Gotcha! We are still on purees so I might change my mind lol!

I saw this one at Sears one day on sale. It's simple and was not very expensive. It was maybe $75-80?

This says it's Carter's but ours says Safety 1st on it. It's the exact same chair, though. It has a removable tray, and a 3-stage recline, and 3 or 4 height settings. The tray insert is dishwasher safe, but would be awkward to put in the dishwasher. It's very simple to wash it off, though. The wheels don't roll well on our tile floor sometimes, but it's not a big deal. It has a 5-point harness, if that makes a difference to you. The tray also has 4 different clicks for closer or farther away from baby. We put the tray as close as it will go and the chair fully upright and it works well. It also folds up slim, but we've never needed to fold it.

Edit to add: Very easy to wipe off with a washcloth. It's not machine washable, but it doesn't really need to be as it's a vinyl plastic type seat cover. I got it when Emily started being able to sit up, around 5 or 6 months?

This the current version of ours. We have had ours 4 years. Looks like depending on the fabric pattern $75-99 new.

I like the tray is easy to adjust and attach 1 handed. The seat cover is machine wash line dry so when it needs I just wash it after dinner and hang it on the back of the chair to dry. It has a small fixed tray and bar between her legs so she can't squirm around as much.

I don't like the removable tray liner because she can lift it herself so I just don't use it.

  • @cputman200 That is almost exactly the one that we have haha

Emily has not realized that she may be able to pull up the tray liner. I'll keep that trick to myself ;)

  • *lurking from A13* I have the super cheap $20 Ikea Antilop. The tray is hard to get off, but I just leave it and wipe everything down. If it get's really messy I can just hose the whole thing off. There's not a lot of nooks and crannies and no fabric cover to wash. I have a really messy eater though, so having something hose-able is nice. The only downside is it has a 3pt not a 5 PT harness.
  • Thanks Ladies! I'm going to try to drag DH to the store this weekend to try these out. :)
  • We have the Chicco Polly high chair. The tray is quite big and bulky, but I pretty much never take it off. Other than that, I love it. The wheels have brakes and everything cleans up really easily.

We have this one too. Now that LO is starting on more finger foods, I love that it has a separate removable tray. It makes it easy to get the mess away from her when she's done and she's still secured in the seat with the normal tray (and harness).
