Hi,
I'm recovering from an ectopic pregnancy. Got my surgery on july 4th (2 am)...
I was wondering, for the people who had or knows someone who had an ectopic pregnancy, how long did it take to finally have an healthy baby in the uterus? Did you/they had another ectopic pregnancy after the first one?
I have a lot of worries, I don't want to go throught this again.
I hope I'm at the right place for this question

Re: Ectopic pregnancy.
I think first, you'll find the majority of the women here have yet to have successful pregnancies and second, everyones bodies heal differently and are different, so you may not find any two situations that are the same. As far as successes after an ectopic, PGaL may be a better place for your question.
If you haven't already you should check out the sticky at the top of the board and the blog link inside it. There is tons of helpful info there.
Again, welcome. I hope you find this board helpful and supportive

I had an ectopic last May/June that resulted in surgery as well. My doctor told me that I have a 15% higher risk of another ectopic after having one. The important thing is to get your betas monitored very closely once you're pregnant again. Unfortunately, we've been TTC again for a year with no luck, so I don't have a success story to tell.
I'm sorry for your loss, but welcome to the board. Best of luck to you.

I'm so sorry for your loss.
I had an ectopic back in October 2010 and lost my right tube. I have since had my 2 sons, one in 2011 and the other in 2013. I just had a miscarriage a little over 3 weeks ago. I had perfect ultrasounds at 4 and 6 weeks (that one with a heartbeat) showing the baby in the right place and growing right on track, but I sadly lost this baby at 9 weeks.
Please take care of yourself. A ruptured ectopic hurts worse and is more painful to recover from than childbirth. Your body also goes through a lot of changes.
Anytime you do get pregnant again you need a doctor who will both draw betas every other day until your HCG hits 1200-1500 and will allow you to have an ultrasound in your 4th week to make sure it's not another ectopic. You will always have a 15% chance of a repeat ectopic. Your chances of success depend on the condition of your remaining tube, as well as the luck of the draw of what side you will ovulate on. If you have any questions feel free to PM me.
