Can I still try?

So I missed/skipped my period this month, but all the tests are negative. I realize I'm not pregnant but wondering if I can still try this month? It may seem like a stupid question but I've read quite a bit about how the embryo can't attach to the uteran walls when the lining is that old, basically that you can't get pregnant if you don't have periods... Idk how reliable or informed that really is, since a lot of women don't have regular periods? I'm really upset about missing the period since I've never missed a single one since the damn thing showed up in 7th grade (figures, the first time I want the stupid thing it won't show) and kind of feel like any charting/tracking/trying is a complete waste this month since it seems like nothing can possibly come of it... Just sort of at a loss for how to or if I should proceed? Anyone have similar experiences with trying/charting after failing to menstruate?

Trying to stay **positive** if possible...

    I am so confused by what you're asking. Is it just me?

    Are you saying that your period is late? How long have you been TTC?

    Your body isn't a machine and your period will come when it comes. Even if it has always been day 28 or whatever, doesn't mean it always will.

    You don't "miss" periods. You probably just ovulated later, or not at all yet. Read the newbie blog (post that says read this first) and if you don't have a period or positive test by cycle day 60 call your doc.

    OP, you obviously didn't take the piece of advice given numerous times - get an account with Fertility Friend and do the free tutorials there. There is a shit ton in those tutorials about how our bodies/cycles work in terms of fertility and TTC. You simply can't go forward still thinking you will just 'miss' periods or relying on whatever crap info you're getting from Dr. Google about 'old linings'.  Fertility Friend tutorials and the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility should be your next stop, rather than the internet.  Seriously!
