Supermarket Recommend

Hello all! So DH and I are taking DD (19 months) to Rehoboth Beach in a few weeks. These are the supermarkets nearby: Giant is closest, but there is a Superfresh, Safeway, etc. there, too.  I am unfamiliar with these chains as we live in Northern Jersey. Which one is best as far as price?? Any other info? Thanks!

I prefer Safeway over Giant for the same reasons.  I hate Giant.  It is laid out horribly and their cashiers race to see who is slower.  

I think their prices are comparable, depending who has what on sale.

I meant to add, I never leave Giant without wanting to shank someone.  It brings emotions only seen when visiting Wal-Mart. 

But DH loves Giant.  So maybe it's just me?

Also, BOGO wine at Safeway right now.  This is my fave time of year.

The only one of those I am familiar with is Safeway.  I use to love Safeway but the last couple years (at least the ones here) have gone down hill.  Everything is overpriced, the deli use to be great but now it's more like Walmart quality but more expensive.  They do have decent sales on Wine, and a pretty good selection.

We don't live by a Giant anymore, but they were ok when we did.

Agree with @catbenatar though--Wegmans is the absolute best ever. I heart Wegmans.

Food Lion used to be our only choice at the NC beach where we vacation.  It was awful.  We would bring frozen meat in a cooler because Food Lion was so nasty.  

Now we drive an extra 30 minutes out of our way to go to the Teeter.

It was in their sales flyer.  They have it every July.  This thread reminded me to check online at the flyer.

It doesn't look like they have it here.  They just finished up with the 30% off Washington Wines deal and they still have their 10% off if you buy 6 bottles of wine. 

They do have free milk of you buy two packages of Keebler cookies, tho.

#priorities.

This exactly. The Safeway by me is terrible. I shop there occasionally because it's closest to my house and I do like the gas rewards.

When I lived in bumfucknowhere GA Food Lion was our fancy store lol.  The only other option was Walmart and it was the worst one I have ever been in.

The Giant in that area is good. I don't like that Superfresh...the produce was sucky last summer when we were there.
