Milo is ours and it's #9. Weird! Every time I've told anyone our baby's name, they've been all, "Huh...." about it before saying, "....that's cute..." like it's a really odd name choice. So it really surprises me to find it on the list!
I don't know that a list going by the amount of views on a name site is very accurate, so I wouldn't worry about most of these actually being too popular.
Nope, but I must say I have never heard the name Cordelia. It's kind of sad how many tv shows/movies have influences on names. Guess I can't say much my mom named me after an 80's rock song. /:)
Damn. Our name is #2. Odd considering most people act as if Declan is off the wall. Oh well. I had a very common name and it wasn't a big deal for me growing up.
Yeah, I don't think this list will translate to the SSA names list for '14, but I think it's interesting to see what names are being searched a lot.
Two of our girls names are on the list: Nora (though I'd spell it Norah) and Jane but they aren't our front runners. Our boy name is not on the list but it is very popular on the SSA list (it's really traditional), so.....
If this LO was a girl I would have fought to the end to have her be Cora, which is WAY higher on this list than the SS list. Ian is not in sight though it's in the 70's on SS.
Nope but I'm not surprised. From everything I've read about it, Linus has never been in the top 1000 in the United States, so I certainly didn't expect it to show up now. Although with the same info being applied to Imogene (which I LOVE, btw), I guess anything is possible.
Our name isn't on this list, though it wouldn't have bothered me too much if it was since it's based on views of the name rather than actual names. What we picked falls somewhere in the 200s on the SSA list.

This. That being said, our baby Gemma is on the list! Yikes. I'd prefer it stays at #316 on the social security list
Our first name choices aren't on the list (yay!) but quite a few of the names I like as potential middle names are on the list. Which I'm ok with. Middle names aren't used often.
Both of our first choices are on there - Sadie and Cora! I still love both of those, but we are going with the name Lilly, now! Lily is on there, but one l where we are using two!
My son's name is on the boys list (born in October 2011) - Hudson!
Damn. Our name is #2.
Odd considering most people act as if Declan is off the wall.

@SEK1114 I wouldn't worry. Our first is Declan (chosen for sentimental reasons before I was even pregnant with him) and I get a lot of "what an interesting name, I've never heard that before" or "How do you pronounce that?". I don't think it is slated to become the next Jacob or Aiden.
S14 August Siggy - Drink Porn - Wine and a hottie (Matthew Goode)!
Our LO's middle name is Evelyn, which tops out at number 20. We had originally wanted to name this baby girl after her grandmothers (Charlotte Victoria) and man oh man I'm glad we started seeing the Charlotte trend early and picked names that the meanings in some way described their grandmothers rather than just straight up after them.
Asher is completely my guilty pleasure name choice and DS2 is Ezra. Hate that they're rising stars, but our second girl's name isn't anywhere to be found, so I guess that's a positive!

The pop culture references amaze me as well.
In addition to Katniss, Hazel and the Game of Thrones names...
Gemma was made popular by Sons of Anarchy and Cordelia by American Horror Story.

Crazy.
Hey in her defense, Gemma from soa is a boss ass bitch.
Damn. Our name is #2.

Of the 5 baby boys on my fb feed that were born this past year, 3 of them are Declan and the other two are Oliver. It's funny how a name can pop up out of nowhere. Also it may be a regional thing??
@chardonnay24 Eleanor is a beautiful name. Will you use any nicknames?
Thanks! :-) We have been calling her Nora and a couple people want to call her Ellie. We'll see what happens when she comes out. We didn't end up using a nickname like we were planning to with our first.
Mine is number two... Declan. Everyone I've told has been like "never heard it before" so I thought it was going to be uncommon (without being to weird). The ss list had it at 121 last year, my goal was to stay out of the top 100. I'm hoping when the ss releases their 2014 list Declan isn't nearly as high.
Thankfully our name is not on there, but our #1 girl name (if we ever have a girl) is...Aurelia. Which is odd because I have never heard the name before. Oh well-- however I feel that lists like these create even more buzz around names so who knows what it'll look like by the time we pop another out.
Also-- @conradgallagher... I think you meant psycho**,not boss. Team Tara... well...I was
