Rant/rave/chart stalks: My OPKs have been light since Monday...my temp spiked slightly yesterday, which, if continued today, would mean I O'd on Monday...this would make sense since my OPKs were very dark on Sunday, yet not quite at the level of the control line...I have decided that they might have actually been positive OPKs and that the slight difference in color between test and control line is due to wondfo cheapy-ness. I'm hoping I'm right.

 In other news, my TTC anxiety has been fully replaced by potential home-ownership anxiety. We put an offer in on a home, our first, and are waiting to hear back...in the meantime, the house we want is in a town with no sewer/gas hookups and as such has oil heat, a propane tank for the stove/oven, a very lovely above-ground pool, septic system, alarm system, 2 sump pumps and a French drain (some water in basement 2x over last 16 years...these contraptions solved the problem), sprinkler system and a mother fucking partridge in a pear tree. This shit needs maintenance and costs money...I'm already craving apartment living. Combine these costs with TTC/pregnancy/tiny human ownership and the fact that I'm dropping a shift to start my master's program in the fall is a whole different kind of crazy train. What jackasses take on these increased expenses the same time as a decrease in income and a potential baby? Yup, we do. We can afford it...but it's a change for sure.

GTYK: I'd love a spa-like bathroom, gourmet range, sub-zero fridge and wine fridge. Potential new house has gourmet range and wine fridge so that's two down!

@wine&cupcakes Congrats on making the offer, that's a HUGE step. We just bought my first ever house. It's crazy large amounts of work that seems to never get done/started, just take it slowly and before you know it a year will have gone by and you'll have a place that starts to look like yours. I kinda love coming home to a proper living room. I also love that we've ignored my brothers-in-laws advice and are not buying any furniture until we're sure what we want. This house is a process and it's sometimes great to not rush anything.

Rants/raves/chart stalks: I GOT A POSITIVE OPK YESTERDAY!! A clear, test-line-darker-than control-line positive, this is the first positive thing I've managed to get since I started peeing on various tests since March. It's a big deal for me. So hopefully I'll get a clear temp shift and be on my way to TWW.

I'm already looking at the predicted period days in FF, those would be right in the middle of my US vacation. So if I get a BFP I'd need to stop drinking around my family and college buddies. Yeah, they'll know before I open my mouth.

We just bought a home and now that we're attacking the re-deco stuff I understand why the price got lowered. This shit is work! My only must-have is a space to make a garden, other than that I'm a pretty flexible person.

@littleliverpill - It is certainly pouring for us! We are taking on a lot at once but we'll make it work...we may be in for a tough couple of years if I have to stop working entirely to make it through school/baby but it will be worth it. FYI, your place sounds amazing!! I bet the weather is great too!

@budders12 - ugh! Hang in there...what are you doing (if anything) to monitor endo progress? Hopefully you feel better soon ((hugs!))

@sjpmcfmd - Thanks...it's going to be hard to realize that slow and steady will win the race on the house front...and that learning to maintain a home will become second nature soon enough. Congrats on the pos OPKs! Where are you going in the US?

@nevertoomanyshoes - Sometimes I think all of this temping/charting/opk-use is a mind fuck! I think HIO is a very good plan in case you can't exactly pinpoint O. Also, I plan to put all sorts of alcohol in the wine fridge!

What are you doing to get pregnant? Temping and sex

Rants/raves/chart stalks: Hoping to start EOD sex tonight. Hoping as in I hope DH isn't totally turned off by this cold. FF is predicting that I'll O on cd16, so hopefully that will time up well. I'm not relying on that prediction- I don't have many cycles entered and I don't trust my body to be that regular. I'm loving that temping will take some of the guess work out of this.

GTKY: We own, and I love our house. We had planned to purchase before having DD but when we realized we would have to compromise on too much in our price range we decided to wait another year. Best decision ever. The only things I don't have are a gas range and a soaking tub. We are planning to finish the basement in the next few years, so my compromise was that DH can decorate and outfit his man cave however he wants as long as I get the bathroom of my dreams. So worth it.

Rants/raves/chart stalks: Damn chart... my temp spiked yesterday and plummeted today. I had 1 +OPK on Sunday and nothing since. Just gonna keep HIO and hope I get CH I guess. On the upside, I made my 6:30 class this morning. Worked out, showered, got breakfast and was still clocked in before 8. Proud of myself!

 

GTKY: We have owned our house for 5 years. I would love to have a more gourmet kitchen, bigger closets in the master and bigger bedrooms. There is a real possibility that we may be moving for DH's job with a year and a half so maybe we can make it happen. I will be sad though.. despite what I wish I had, I adore my house

We bought a house almost a year ago. We love having our own space with plenty of room. "Must haves" when looking were at least 1 acre, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, open floor plan and move-in ready. We found the perfect place for us, but our dream home would have even more property and a fourth bedroom/basement for storage.

Rants/raves/chart stalks: Ranting at myself because I've been eating so much junk lately and now I feel bad because the dress I just bought last month is tighter this morning. I really want to get back to being healthy, problem is it's tech week so that plus full time job means no time to do anything else until Saturday morning. (My sleep is already getting cut down this week, so getting up earlier really isn't an option, unless I want to be a zombie at work.)

We own our home. It's a little small (granted, BIL lives with us so we have all of his stuff in the house too), but we love the area. It's not my dream home (the kitchen is ok, but as an avid baker and decorator it's often not enough for my purposes), and it needs some repairs and stuff - windows, carpets, etc. In a perfect world, I'd have the Property Brothers come by and fix it all.

ETA to actually answer the question - I need a huge kitchen. Lots of counter space, and a double oven would be nice too.

I will say being a homeowner has it's bonuses, but I do miss being able to call the rental office and letting them handle it when something breaks down and needs repair :P

Rants/raves/chart stalks:  Well good news is I haven't o'd yet, the bad news is I'm very frustrated both sexually and emotionally... oh well this too shall pass just sucks in the moment

GTKY:   I rent from my mother, house my ex h and I had owned together, needless to say divorce wrecked my financial status... I may recover in about 50 years.. but the house suits my needs, a private backyard- great for the dogs to play and me to lay out in (yes topless on occasion), enough bedrooms / baths for the boys and *1 more please, also basement wreck room for the boys to hang out and have their compute/tv, etc.

@excited2see it's such a pain to live as an adult with parents. We lived with my in-laws for 8 months before the house was officially ours and they were out. It puts a lot of strain on the relationship when there's things they need to do and you're trying to be nice/polite but it's not OK that they didnt fix/do something.
Now that they're out, it's so much better and I'm not the evil daughter-in-law anymore.

@jags8 - omg 6 times!!! It's nuts! Our first offer we were one of 13 (!!!) and offered 25k over and still didn't get it. This house we are more hopeful for...actually, DH and I went there this past weekend for an open house and walked right in...problem was - the open house is next weekend! The owners were cleaning and nice enough to show us around anyways. We are hoping this works in our favor. Also, the house is 3400 sq ft. They put on a huge addition to accommodate their family so I feel like we will reap the benefit of that. Major downside is oil - I literally vomit thinking of how expensive that will be. We offered $5k under asking but want the fridge included. We have until 6pm to hear back!!! I can't wait!!

@bostonbaker - sounds like our requirements. I'm assuming you are also in Boston area? It's insane. Insanity!!!

Yes! We are currently in Boston metro as well! I will miss the city so bad, but alas, we can't afford to buy in it...years ago I used to live in Southie and would drive down by the Seaport when condos were only going for $350k...I knew the area was going to explode. I wish I had the money to buy then! Or hell, even in Southie! Going back 7 years that place was dirt cheap and now it's insane!

The owners put on an addition but they knew it wouldn't garner them much more from an equity/sale standpoint so it's great that we can get a house with that much space in our price point. I hate looking for homes here. If we were in Texas or Atlanta we would be livin large!!

Rants/raves/chart stalks:  I'm so scared of my first period post-bc.  The pain was so horrifically bad as a teenager (12-14) that I was on muscle-relaxants monthly to get through.  The OB I went to see for a pre-conception visit was decidedly unhelpful and dismissive.  Will be trying a new one.

We purchased a home in May, a 1787 farmhouse with an acre and a half of land, almost all open.  Our Australian cattle dog, Max, loves it!  We're slowly dealing with the scope of work that needs to be done, but trying to enjoy the process and learning a lot about both home repair and each other in the process.  The yard was the must-have, and ideally we wanted three bedrooms, which we did get.  In the future we want to add a second bath and a dedicated laundry room. And probably try to figure out why the barn is leaning to one side, lol.

 Rants/raves/chart stalks: I FINALLY figured out iPad formatting yesterday. Hopefully it still works today other than that just have to plan well for sex timing, MH and I have screwy schedules this week.  

 GTKY: We rent for now until H graduates grad school later this year (and starts earning a paycheck). When we start looking we will want: a larger property, quiet location, bigger kitchen and a basement. The rest we can customize ourselves.

A design feature that I would love is the open floor plan concept – I want to be able to entertain guests while I am cooking in the kitchen – I also want to be able to see my children while I am in the kitchen – not have it be blocked off and separated. I would also love said kitchen to be super amazing and gourmet!

Rants/Raves/chart stalks: I've been turning almost-positive Wondfo OPKs for over 24 hours now...hoping that i'll see a positive one either this evening or tomorrow morning, at which point ED sex will begin until i see a temp spike.  Saw what I believe could have been EWCM this morning, after two days of watery...but it was only 11 hours post-sex so it could have been something else.  Thinking i'll O this weekend (a week earlier than last cycle, which was my first post-BCP), in which case my timing looks really good!

 

GTKY: We own a condo right now but are casually looking at houses to buy (will maintain condo as a rental property as it is located center-city).  Won't be desperate until i have a uterine inhabitant, at which point we're going to have to buy something fairly quickly.  The down payment is already saved up for the next house and then some, because the condo is so cheap (we bought it when we were right out of college and now are 9 years into our professional lives, so our income has basically tripled since then).

 

Next house must have a good kitchen and master bed/bath with large closet, and a dock on a part of the lake that is good for water skiing, while maintaining a sub-40 minute commute.  A walk-out basement or pool would be a bonus. :-)

Rants/raves/chart stalks:  Major temp dip this morning.  Not sure why.  It's really too early for it to be a pre-O dip.  I woke earlier than normal this morning, but less than an hour.  And I barely had anything to drink last night.

Rants/Raves/Chart Stalks: Here I go... For years, I've always thought I could feel ovulation between cycle days 8 and 11, but once I started learning more about my body, I thought I must be wrong, because it would mean I have a 17-18 day luteal phase.  Then, I started just tracking periods and symptoms for over a year before TTC (to track possible endo symptoms).  I still was feeling what I thought was ovulation pain consistently 18 days before my period.  Then a few months ago, I went in on CD 7 for an transvaginal ultrasound to look at some other stuff, and was told that I was gearing up to ovulate "in the next 24 hours. "  When that cycle was over, I did the math and sure enough... if I ovulated on day 8, I had an 18 day lp.  Today is day 7 and FF, CM, and OPK all indicate that I'm gearing up to O.  IS anyone else in my boat?  Any other early ovulators/long lp girls out there?  Certainly, I'm not alone. This is my first month temping and doing OPK, so I'm looking forward to getting at least a full month of data to look at.

GTKY: I was so glad to have been given some Home Depot gift cards when we bought our home.  I swear I was in there 20 times a week!

Rants/raves/chart stalks: Have my annual OBGYN appt tomorrow and plan to ask about short LP's (mostly 9 days with one 6 day). Not sure what will come of it but hoping for some suggestions.

We own our home, just bought it in February and built it. Not perfect but was within our comfortable range. I'd love to have a kitchen with an island. @mrsberg9282013  I'm like you.  I never dip because of drinking, it usually spikes.  But I can't figure out why it dropped so low this morning so I was just throwing things out there.  Even when I do drink, it doesn't usually spike unless I really drink drink.  A glass or two doesn't seem to affect it.

FYI for those wanting a big soaking tub... I have one. It is big enough for DH and I to both be in it with only our feet touching (heart shaped). While it is awesome and I love it, it takes 30 minutes to fill, drains the water heater and I have to boil three big pots of water on the stove to make it hot enough to satisfy me. I'm just putting it out there that the green grass may actually be a very expensive lawn company

I forgot to mention that we can't flush the master toilet for a few hours after we drain the tub because it overwhelms the plumbing and the toilet stops up. That's most likely a plumbing issue here though. Had someone look at it and they couldn't figure it out.
