Pretending to drink - Sneaky trick!

I had a work party tonight and because I am(was) a big beer drinker, my friends would have known something was up if I wasn't drinking. I ended up buying the Bud Light aluminum bottles with screw top and had my hubby drink them last night. I then refilled them with ginger ale and know one was the wiser!! It worked out perfectly! Thought I would share since I was stressing about how to handle the situation all month long.

It's so sad that a woman can't turn down a drink without people assuming she's pregnant. Thanks for the tip I may have to try it.

Good idea!

We went out last weekend and I told H to order me a sprite but to ask the bartender to put it in a cocktail glass with the cocktail straw. When he came back with the drink my friends asked what I ordered and I said a vodka and sprite. My friend was suspicious that I was KU and she looked at me skeptically and said "let me try a sip" and I said NO! She knows.... ugh...

with my last pregnancy I went to a batchlorette party.  I filled a chardonnay bottle with white grape juice.  I even put the cork all the way back in. :-)

We ended up telling my parents but not anyone else that pregnant. We were at their house the other day and my sister was there, mom thought she would know if I wasn't drinking so she came out and have me a mock-tail of seltzer and pineapple juice...it was delicious!

I was outed on Saturday by husband's cousin. We met them for dinner and she asked why I wasn't drinking. I said I was the DD. She did not believe me. I have emptied beer bottles or cans at a couple of past events. That has worked. I have friends that are watching my every drink.

I think I'm going to be found out this weekend. We are seeing my bro and SIL and we all always have a few drinks when we are together. Really almost no way that they won't know, especially in their own house.

I have to admit though, It always annoys me when people try to play super sleuth with whether someone is pregnant or not. If a woman has gone to the trouble to pretend to drink it's probably because she doesn't want to tell you yet! I know friends mean well, but still, just be patient.

I outed my friend one time. In my defense, I was drunk.  I did feel bad though :-)

I usually order a non-alcoholic beer in a glass, there is no way to tell by looking at it.  Or, I order a club soda with lime, which looks like vodka soda.  Or a virgin cesar.  You just need to be able to order the drink in privacy.
