Top names of 2014

The today show posted a mid year report of the top names thus far.... https://t.today.com/parents/baby-names-imogen-asher-top-list-2014-so-far-1D79899236 I'm a fan of the hunger games, but naming your daughter Katniss is a bit much for me. IMO. Thoughts? Is your babies name on this list?

Interesting. Quite a few of those are different than the 2013 list. None of the names we're thinking about are on the top 10 list!

Imogen? I don't get the reference but I'm a little surprised it's #1.

I was thinking the same thing. Plus, since it's so different, it makes me wonder how accurate the list is. Typically the lists change a tiny bit, but this is quite drastic.

There is a singer Imogen Heap. I like her stuff but still I would never name my girl that. I too am glad to see the name we picked is not on the list. Shelby ☺️

Keep in mind, these are the top looked at names on Nameberry. It doesn't mean people are choosing those names (if your name is on the top 10).

Adeline is super close to what we named our DD so that's kind of a bummer but I like ours better. We named her Adelyn

I have a friend (in her 30s) with that name I think it's a good one!

I had a girl's name picked out but for some reason the name Amelia did catch my eye a while ago so I didn't completely take it off my list. I also jokingly tell SO I want to name the baby Khaleesi if it's a girl all the time. )

Imogen is a British first name and I think it's nice, but idk if I'd consider it for my lo just because it's not very common here in the US. Surprised it was on this list!

This! It is by no means official. It just means the names that got the most attention, not actual names given to babies.

God bless it!!  My son's name is #5 and if this baby is a boy, his name is #6.  I hate that.

Do people actually read articles?

This is based off of what names are SEARCHED  the most on their website. Not based off of actual names being used based on social security.
