Brushing LO Teeth

For you ladies that are brushing your LO's teeth, how long do you do it for each time? I've been trying to stick to a routine of brushing twice a day and while she lets me brush her teeth it doesn't last very long. she pushes my hand away but then after a few seconds, she opens her mouth again and lets me try. And then we repeat. I'm just wondering when you do it, how long do you brush for?

I do it for as long as she will let me. Then, Lily "brushes" her own. I usually only brush at night right now. It's become a part of bath time.

There's also an old Raffi song about brushing your teeth. Sometimes we sing that.

Probably about thirty seconds, if that. His teeth are all in front so I can get to them pretty easily but he would rather eat his own arm than let me stick a toothbrush in his mouth.

Thanks ladies for the responses. Sounds like we are doing about the same with about 15-30 seconds. @Ciahanna‌, I like the song so I'm going to try singing that. She's got 9 teeth and one more making its way so I definitely want to keep her in a routine and like it. I also will start brushing mine with herso she sees me doing it

We probably get about 15-30 seconds in before he starts just chewing on the toothbrush.  He has nine teeth, and really, that gives me enough time to hit each of his teeth, so I am ok with that.

Love this! I downloaded a bunch of Raffi songs recently and I sing this to her all the time!

I was having a huge problem brushing DDs teeth. She would absolutely refuse to open her mouth. I started brushing my teeth in front of her, singing the "brusha brusha" song @ciahanna made up, and making brushing teeth seem super exciting. All of a sudden she is really into brushing her teeth, and has let me brush her teeth a few days in a row! When I put her brush away yesterday, she actually cried! Thanks for the tips everyone!

@Ciahanna‌, singing brusha brusha song worked for us too. She's actually taken the toothbrush and tried to do it herself now!
