Hey! I had an appointment yesterday and the dr told me I am measuring small. She said it could be just the way the baby is positioned. Is there anything else it could be? I am worried about the health and well being of my baby now!
Did your Dr seem worried? If not, you shouldn't be either. Sometimes babies just run a little small, my mom measured small w me her whole pregnancy. I was a peanut, 5 lb 14oz, but perfectly healthy and on time
don't worry! if they were concerned about baby's size and it's impact on development they'd have ordered you in for growth scans or non stress tests (or any similar tests)
Thanks yall! She didn't seem worried but she said if I continue to measure small they will order an ultrasound to make sure she is growing properly. This is my first so I am really nervous!
I'm measuring 2 weeks behind. My OB said that is fine. I am worried because I had IUGR twins last pregnancy. I know if there is worry, I'll be sent for a growth u/s. So like other ladies have said, if your doctor isn't worried, you shouldn't be.
Babies range in sizes just like any other human so I wouldn't be concerned. I measured small with entire pregnancy so they pushed my due date back. Then the last two weeks they told me that he was over 9 pounds and that he would probably gain another pound before I had him. Guess what...I went 4 days earlier than my due date and he weighed in a "whopping" 8 lbs 6 oz. I have heard of so many people say that their doctor said their baby was measuring small or large and freak them out and they have a perfectly normal baby when they get here. Truth his, measuring a baby isn't a science, It's an estimate. I wouldn't worry at all about it. I have never known anyone to have any issues or problems from being told that they are measuring big or small, other than stressing themselves out. And trust me...I stressed myself out last time. This time I am taking it with a grain of salt.
