hyper lacatation syndrome?

Hello Ladies,

I was curious if anyone has heard of or has had over milk supply. I have been having feeding issues with my 1 month lo. I started pumping at 2 weeks to help supply. I breastfeed during the day and when he wakes up in the middle of the night. He currently has a supplement bottle of similac supplementation at night time so his father can feed him.  He has appeared gassy but as I was researching I came across hyper lactation syndrome. He cries quite a bit during and after feedings, He will only feed for about 5-10 min, I occasionally spray milk after just starting feeding, he spits up, he also went from 7lbs 3 oz at 2 weeks to 8lbs 14 oz. at 4 weeks.  Thank you in advance... feedback I would really appreciate... ftm here lol!

I'd stop supplementing and cut back on pumping as well as that's making the oversupply worse.

Ditto the PP. No need to pump or supplement as that will just aggravate your issue further. You can manually express a little milk before feeding and you can also nurse in a reclined position to make things better for your LO. I had this issue with just my left side when I first started BFing and it took a few weeks for my supply to regulate. I still have to be careful - like I have to stay away from oatmeal completely - but it has gotten under control.
