Puppies and Rainbows

Hi Ladies,

I just had to do a puppies and rainbows post about some great news I've received IRL.  I know some of you are in some tough spots with your relationships, so I'm hoping this can maybe brighten things up a little bit.

Two of my close friends are expecting their "rainbow babies."  One of my friends lost a tube due to an ectopic pregnancy along with two additional early miscarriages all while also dealing with IF for 5 years, and she's now in the second trimester and out of the "high risk" category.  My other friend lost her sweet baby boy at 22 weeks a year ago, and she's expecting the first part of February.  I'm so happy for them I could just burst.

Also, it finally stopped raining in MN, so we can actually enjoy our brief summer weather.  DS thinks he's a fish and should be swimming all.the.time., so it's been fun teaching him to kick, paddle, and blow bubbles.

Despite how much i hated not being at DS's appt today, all the nervous energy allowed me to get some kick butt cleaning done in the living and dining room, which was nice That is so exciting for your friends. Thoren is a rainbow baby in a couple of ways, our first pregnancy ended in a MC at about 8 weeks. Then with Thoren's pregnancy, it was originally twins. We lost his brother in the first trimester, and they told us we would lose him too. 2 years later here we are

DD is still sleeping from her nap. It has been 3.5 hrs. It's a nice break since she woke up at 6:30 awake this morning. I am going to make banana muffins now. :-)

As I posted in my pity party post, we have had a sick DD and I was a train wreck after doctors appointment number four yesterday. I got home and DH had made dinner, put away the dishes and stepped in after bathtime to read DD books and put her to bed unprompted. DH and I had our derailing last year and have slowly put ourselves back together and it makes moments like that all the more sweet.

My day has been great! We're house sitting at my parents house on the lake and got to go out on the boat today DH is off work this week so we finally get some family time.

Also, I found out my husband's fire department is going to be on Good Morning America for a video contest--they just found out they're semi finalists! If any of you watch GMA keep an eye out for CCFD

Nothing super exciting here, just wanted to say that DD and I had a really fun day together. One of those days that I will remember when she's away to college and I can still feel her little hand in mine, walking home from the park.

DS slept in in his own bed for the very first time EVER this morning (8:30am) and it was on my day off so I got to sleep in! It was so amazing.

Andplusalso! He has had a language explosion in the last two days. He's up to 8 words already!
