Question for those who have had an IUI

On the day of the IUI did your RE do an U/S to measure the follicle(s)? I had my CD 12 us on friday the 4th and they saw one follicle in my right ovary measuring 19, told me I could trigger that night and come in Sunday for the IUI. I was expecting her to check my ovary for the follicle or to see if it ruptured but she didn't, she did the procedure and sent us on our way. I was just curious what your experience was.

    All of my IUIs went the same as yours. Check the day of trigger. No US or BW on day of IUI.

    They didn't check my follicles at my IUI either.  They came in, made me verify the names on the sample, and got to work.  Whole thing took less than 5 minutes.  I was also expecting them to have me lay down for longer afterward but they told me I could go after 10 minutes.

    IUI #3 on 8/22/2014 100 mg Clomid + Ovidrel + IUI (53 million sperm, 2 dominant follies)= BFP MMC @ 7weeks

    Once I have detected my surge, my RE has me come in the same day and do an u/s then the IUI even when I triggered the previous cycle. He usually does it to see if I have ovulated already or not.  It seems like every doctor might be different as from the other responses.

    Hello:
    My RE does B2B IUI 24/48 hours after the trigger and does an ultrasound right before each IUI. I'm not sure why, but it was helpful because I know I ovulated between IUI's since at the second IUI the follicles had collapsed. As people have mentioned a lot of RE's do not do an ultrasound the day of the IUI. 

    Me: 33, DH: 32

    TTC: 2 years
    Fertility blood tests all normal
    Tilted uterus
    3 day ultrasound 17 follicles
    HSG: 11/13/13- tubes open
    DH SA: SUPER sperm (145 million, 84% motility, 22% morphology)
    All infection disease and immunity blood tests NORMAL
    FIRST IUI May 2014: 100 mg Clomid days 5-9, third ultrasound CD 13 revealed four follicles 27, 24 and 20 and 13mm. Trigger shot May 28 with IUI May 29 and 30 (fingers crossed) - BFN started spotting 11DPO :(

    IUI #2 B2B 6/23 and 6/24, three mature eggs and 130 million sperm! FX this is the month!  BFN 7/8

    3rd cycle benched due to cysts - TI with OPK tests -  BFN

    3rd mediated cycle: Clomid+Trigger+TI  (three follies left side, one on right as usual....what the hell right ovary get it together and produce some damn follicles!) 7DPO progesterone level 43 with NO suppositories YAY for a natural strong ovulation. Beta canceled started spotting 13DPO - Third time is not a CHARM! 14 day cycle WTF! Everything looks normal - RE wants to start injectables next cycle so this cycle I'm benched

    Officially benched until March....but still plan on trying the baking soda douche due to my excessive and thick CM

    JANUARY SIGGY CHALLENGE...This is so me!

    IUI#1 on 6/28 - I had an u/s the day before (CD 12), and IUI was scheduled for next day - I'm not sure if it would have been scheduled so quickly but it just so happened that I had a +OPK that morning.  We didn't do a trigger. 

    Me (38) & DH (48).  Married since 5/5/13, TTC since then!

    MFI - low counts, low motility

    IUI #1:  6/28/14

    Mine does both blood work and ultrasound on the day of the IUI

    Official diagnosis: Unexplained IF. I am 32. I have low ovarian reserve (low AMH), and poor egg quality. I've also been diagnosed with mild glandular developmental arrest (lining problems, detected with EFT).

    We are using open ID donor sperm. IUIs #1-7=BFN. IVF September 2014 antagonist protocol, 8R,5M,3F, 5 day transfer of 1 morula = BFN. IVF#2 planned for January 2015 (antagonist protocol + HGH).

    I had an US on what ended up being 4 days before IUI (used OPKs instead of trigger), and then another right before IUI to confirm the timing. Not sure if they would repeat the US if there had been only 1 or 2 days between.

    Ultrasound day of trigger seems standard.  That's what my RE did.

    I always have an ultrasound the day before and then usually after. I just had #5 today. I told the dr I'm tired of being prodded all the time so no ultrasound tomorrow. This is my last one, if it doesn't work, we are looking into adoption.
