TTC After a Loss

When DH or SO is a SS (NTTCALR)

This post is inspired by some of the dumb (crazy, stupid, what the what???!) things my DH does on a daily basis.  The teapot done boiled over this morning with this one.
Last night I decided to put the dog's dishes in the dishwasher after she ate dinner.  My DH got up first this morning so he fed the dog.  When I got up a couple of hours later I go to let the dog out and noticed her dishes weren't anywhere to be seen.  So I text my hubby to ask if he fed the dog.  He texts back and says, yeah but I couldn't find her dishes (and by "couldn't find" he means the weren't right in front of him on the floor so obviously they are gone forever) so he just fed her off the floor.....like just dumped the food on the floor!  WTF?  He could of at least grabbed another dish or something!  When did he get so helpless???  I swear the longer we have been together, the more helpless he has become!  He's lucky I love him I guess!

So let me hear your stories!  I know my DH cannot be the only one who does this kind of stuff :)

Re: When DH or SO is a SS (NTTCALR)

  • Ha ha, I'm the one in the relationship who's more likely to do stuff like that. But my DH is a SS because he has a touch of OCD. Seriously, if I move the coffee pot or the knife block to a different location on the counter, it makes him twitchy.

  • MH is a SS because he is a total geek. Plays Dungeons and Dragons, Minecraft, loves comics kind of geek. With this comes a somewhat less than mainstream sense of humor so he gets a little put out when he posts something to "funny" to FB and it doesn't get "likes" (except from me, because while I may not think it's funny, I hate to see him disappointed) because no one gets what he posted like he does. @sarcaztic10‌ he puts recycling on the counter, directly above the bag that is in a cabinet to hold recycling - seriously? And @jennadesigns‌ his clothes are always in a heap on the floor in FRONT of the hamper - it was less than one extra step. I threaten not to wash them, but I still do because it drives me nuts to have them on the floor.

@sarcaztic10‌ - my husband leaves his garbage - especially you gut containers - on the counter above the garbage and recycling. Bending over is hard!

@jennadesigns‌ - yep when I come home after a business trip, I know exactly why MH wore all week because it's piled on the bed, next to the bed, on the floor, etc. Drives me nuts!

MH also has the inability to "find" things. He'll tell me he can't find something and it usually takes me less than 60 seconds to find it. He doesn't really look, or move things to look, or bend over far enough to really look. I call him on this all the time!
    TTC: Since July 2013
    BFP #1: EDD 05/27/2014 (D&C 10/17/2014)
  • MH WILL NOT put his clothes away. I wash them and fold them, but I refuse to put them away, so he just piles them all on top of the dresser, claiming he doesn't know where they go (I'm pretty sure he does, considering he's gotten stuff out of them before). And then he'll put his dirty clothes back on top of the clean ones. SERIOUSLY MAN, I JUST WASHED THAT STUFF!
Oh, and also, he makes me go down to the basement to get him clothes when he's getting ready for work *sigh*

  • A while back I asked hubby to put a bowl in the dishwasher. He LITERALLY opened the dishwasher door and THREW THE BOWL INTO IT! I was like SERIOUSLY?!?! Just tossed it in... no rhyme or reason. ugh!

  • mflowers929 I hear you on the "pile everything on top of the dresser" thing. Mine does the same thing. How hard is it to open the drawers and put them in? I mean really, it's the only thing he has to do - I've washed and folded them already and I carried them up to our room! It seems a lot of our DH are clothes slobs from this thread. I guess we need to find a way to train them.

  • Yep, DH pretty much guilty of all these as well.  Another special talent he has is when he washes dishes (the ones that don't go in the dish washer)  sometimes they come out dirtier than when they started  :-w  It's like magic!  Usually it's because he washes an oily pan first, then uses that same sponge to "wash" everything else.  He calls it the "protective layer"   #-o

Oh man I could go on for days!! But the best most recent SS:
We were making dinner Sunday on the grill and I was too lazy to do veggies. We had steam fresh potatos with green beans in the freezer. I asked him to throw them in the microwave. No joke the man came back outside and said "how do you cook these" to which I said "I follow the directions on the bag" he got mad at me. Then when they were done he said now what?

    PgAL welcome

This is me. Drives me absolutely bonkers when DH doesn't put things back where I put them. I preach "Everything has a place, so put it in it's place!"
