Rant/rave/chart stalk: I'm kicking myself for not taking my temps more seriously. My OPKs were getting darker on Sunday and have since lightened up...I've been taking them every 12 hours or so. Now I'm having anxiety over a fear of not O'ing this month, having our FW wrong, etc. In fact, I'm having anxiety over this anxiety and the harm it could be causing with conception. Clearly, I'm on a crazy train. I think next cycle I'm going to start temping vaginally as I work rotating nights and days so my times are inconsistent and I don't sleep well, hopefully that will allow a bit more leeway. I may also pick up a fertility monitor because somehow I think having a nice digital representation of my cycle will be less of a mind fuck for me. Yes, I realize I need to smack myself in the face and get real as this is only cycle 1, week 2. It's just a bit new to me at this point...I think I'll be less cray once I settle in.

 

GTKY: I really wish I had gone to medical school versus nursing school. I'm much more interested in diagnostics and treatment than I realized...I would have also loved to be a baker and have a nice quaint coffee/pastry shop.

@littleliverpill - if I'm not mistaken its later in the day in Vietnam? Totally acceptable to be having wine...it's 6:30am here so I think it would be frowned upon. Sorry you are so bummed :-( I'm quickly learning that despite knowing the fact, it's really easy to think "this is it" and expect it to happen ASAP.

@NeverTooManyShoes - I think I could be wrong, but I believe that the window for an OPK to test positive can be as long as 72 hours...I wonder how tomorrow will look. Want to trade? I'll give you my incessantly negative OPKs for one positive of yours? :-)

@wine&cupcakes sorry you're feeling anxious - I don't think you should smack yourself in the face, though, give yourself a hug (or find someone else to!).  I do think things get easier as you get more comfortable with cycle monitoring.

@littleliverpill sorry you're feeling down, I definitely think it's ok to wallow (in wine, cupcakes and/or self-pity!) for a few days, whatever cycle you're on....

@nevertoomanyshoes In the past I've had a few days of almost-positive OPKs, but not clear positives.  Hope you O'd already!

Rants/Raves/Chart Stalks: Only have 2 temps, so no chart stalks. No rants either. Just excited for vacation, seeing my family, a bachelorette party. Not looking forward to a 23 hour drive each way though.

GTKY: I'm happy with what I do (wedding planner/consultant) but, if I had it all to do again, I wouldn't have dicked around so much in school. It took me a while to finish

@littleliverpill‌ - I know how you feel. At first TTC is fun and exciting and the first few BFNs can be written off as "most don't get lucky right away", then month 4,5 and 6 roll around and its not fun. I've been planning my FFFC for this week because of that.

@MiraK03‌ - noo! I'm in the same boat this month (and next) so FX that O hold out a few more days.

@NeverTooManyShoes‌ - I recall recently that a few ladies were rockin out like 6+ days of positive OPKs! You can surge and not even O. FX that you O soon!

Queston: I saw my first thermal shift today and think it is possible I O'd yesterday (CD12??) Tomorrow is obviously important But I am hoping to take a class tomorrow at 6:30 am before work. That's the time I normally temp. How bad will I screw things up if I check and hour early?

I've been messing around in FF and I have tentative crosshairs with the Research method so I might be into my LP. Not ready to hop into the 2WW thread but I'm going to resume being more lurky until I get to the end of this cycle, I think.

@SpartanChick88‌ I'm gonna take the easy route here and say it just depends. My temp is always lower the earlier I temp, but I don't think an hour is going to do much harm. It might not effect it at all.

I wasn't confident enough as a teen to follow that passion. Also wish I wasn't allergic to nuts, otherwise I would rock the hell out of a bakery.

@littleliverpill I dont usually get down in the beginning of each month because I get drunk on CD1. But the BFN around 13DPO is always a bummer/makes me question even doing this again next month.

 What are you doing to get pregnant? sex, opks, water, I ate some pineapple core (it was delicious), folic acid, temping. I think I'm going all-out this cycle.

 Rants/raves/chart stalks: I notice I'm getting better at timing/fertility things each cycle. Which is kinda bad since each cycle puts any possible maternity leave more in the middle of my jobs busy season. Oh well, I expect a temp shift in the next week or so, then the TWW will be when we're in the US on vacation. Oh great, the crazy train will be passing through.

GTKY: If you could do things over again, would you choose a different profession? If so, what?

I think I would, something in the sciences or engineering, maybe a carpenter or gardener. I really like to build things but I suck at it since no one ever really taught me. I like my job but sometimes I wish I wasnt in an office. But my job allowed me to work immediately in a foreign country, which is not easy to find.

I had my IUI on Sunday(CD 14) temp was up on CD 15, started progesterone as directed, this morning temp up some more and FF gives me this big bold alert saying it cannot confirm my O and took my ovulation line away and put me back on CD waiting to O....wtf?!!!



GTKY: If you could do things over again, would you choose a different profession? If so, what? I went to nursing school but with two young children it became really overwhelming so after straight A's and completing my first semester, clinical in a nursing home acute care my DH decided it was best for our family that I become a stay at home mom. After that I practically moved into my kids school to volunteer, lunch with the kiddos, and hitting every field trip. They get so excited when I'm there so as long as they want me I'm gonna be there. Now that summer is here we are like the 3 amigos, off on an adventure everyday making memories!

However, what I did before I stopped working yes. I did inventory for five years, worked in a museum selling tickets briefly, and worked as a church secretary for a couple years before I became a mom. I have a history degree which is pretty useless right now. So I would not have done that for one. I would love to be a writer actually, but right now I'm good with what I'm doing.

jennycam that is weird that ff alerted you like that and with a temp rise?  Did you indicate your medication?  Does that affect the reading with ff?  I'm unknowledable about what ff does with medication information

Rants/raves/chart stalks: ok dammit I'm gonna unload so skip if you don't want to hear it.  Last cycle only had sex 1 fucking time during fertile week, this month dh and I agree ATLEAST EOD,.. only Saturday dh has a freaking toothache/abcess dammmit man pull yourself together... so he gets antibiotics and we are able to on Sunday, but last night? oh no he's tired... I don't care just give me your sperm.  ok i have exhaled.  Yes, of course I care he is in pain and tired unfortunately my body doesn't wait on yours to heal.  We attempted last night but he just couldn't perform, that is so freaking frustrating!  ugh ok, maybe tongight

On a happier note a friend of mine just told me this am she is pg!  I'm so happy for her, she is young (29) and she and her dh have been trying for over a year!  It is her 2nd pregnancy her 1st is 5 and her dh went through a vasectomy reversal so it has been quite a journey for them!  Yay... !

GTKY: If you could do things over again, would you choose a different profession? If so, what? Hell yes, I'd have an actual profession over just a job... but then again maybe not.  I was a sahm with my older boys for 8 years and that was a blessing. I have a bs but no further education with a direct career path... I'm still not sure what I want to be when I grow up...

Rants/raves/chart stalks: Thinking I probably O'ed, so waiting for CH. Two days of sex in a row was enough for me.
GTKY: If you could do things over again, would you choose a different profession? If so, what? I'm a SAHM, which I absolutely love, but my degree is in teaching. I never really got to teach full-time, but I love the profession I chose. I might go back after my kids are grown.

Forgot to use an OPK this morning so I'll have to start tomorrow. I really hope I O when FF thinks I will, because that will make some timing easier with the weekend, but we'll see.

I got dotted CH this morning! So frustrating. I keep getting the stupid blinky smiley face on the CBDA, and I WAS getting CM for a couple days, then I dried up, then it was EWCM a few days later, then I dried up again. This cycle sucks.


GTKY: If you could do things over again, would you choose a different profession? If so, what? When I was working I LOVED my job, and wouldn't have changed a thing. I was a work comp adjuster. I had so much fun doing that job.

@kelley72‌ - relying on a willing and operational penis is hard. And frustrating. I found myself playing extra nice with DH over the weekend so he would have sex with me as I demanded it....I wish we could relax and have sex when we want but I want a mother fucking steak and can't have one until I pop a kid out, so we both know we need to go for gold each month or it's off to the RE in 6, which we would like to avoid for financial reasons if possible. But yes, TTC is hard and tiring. I never thought I would see the day my DH was 'too tired' but the FW schedule is way different from our norm.

I suggest some sexy lingerie and have a drink ready for him when he gets home...I have found that spicing it up is helpful. But sorry to hear that things aren't aligning so well!

NICU nurse, I went with a earlychildhood degree and focused on educating new Parents and working with newborns in a home setting, but often times wish I would have pursued medical and gone into NICU nursing as I could have accomplished the education both in the NICU and in private homes had I chosen!

@Wine&Cupcakes‌ At the moment i live in the middle of the city and I raise a flock of hens every year. The neighbors dont have a problem because they get free eggs and hens dont crow! The most noise they make is their egg call after they lay. I love my girls and i love my fresh free eggs.

Rants/raves/chart stalks: we were supposed to have sex last night but H is having some dental issues and was too cranky.  He needs to get on his game tonight because i started the OPKs yesterday and it looks like O should (hopefully) be coming soon.

 

GTKY: If you could do things over again, would you choose a different profession? If so, what? You mean i would have to be something other than a CPA?  Why?  Ok JK, i have the most boring job imaginable.  If being a travel agent was still a profession that people could make a full time living at, i would want to do that.  I love traveling and i love planning trips for myself and other people.

 

OPK question, because i had never done them before last night: I am using the Wondfos - last night i had an extreme squinter line, but there did appear to be a line there.  This morning i had an obvious line, but it was definitely still negative, as it wasn't nearly as dark as the test line.  Is this usually representative of a pattern (like when this happens to you do you generally see the line get darker until it's positive, and then it goes away) or is it just random negatives that botched and gave me lines?  I assume that the lines indicate SOME level of LH, so i'm thinking at this point, if they keep getting darker, i should O maybe on Friday or Saturday (CD 13 or 14).  Which would mean that my cycle last month (first month off BCP) was probably a fluke (34 days).  I was wanting the cycles to regulate themselves and get shorter, so i'm hoping that this is what is happening. :-)

GTKY: If you could do things over again, would you choose a different profession? If so, what? I don’t know that I would change my profession, however, I do wish I would have known that I wanted an Early Childhood Education degree earlier as opposed to towards the end of my business degree education. Not that I regret the business degree, but that I could have been working on both of them concurrently.

@delujm0 ~ My OPKS always have some sort of a line, and I am pretty sure that is normal, as LH is always present at some level – and they do a “fade-in” pattern where they get darker leading up to a positive. Everyone is different though.

@SpartanChick88 - I agree with @littleliverpill, for me at least having 3 hours is more important than the time.  Even if it's off a little because it's an hour earlier you should still be able to confirm the shift.

Rants/raves/chart stalks:  So looks like my body got royally screwed up this cycle.  We were having sex EOD but last week I gave up on ever ovulating.  Looks we need to get back into it because my OPK was almost positive at lunch time!

GTKY: If you could do things over again, would you choose a different profession? If so, what?  That's what I'm in the middle of doing!  I got my degree in chemistry but I'm back in school for accounting.
