DHEA........ Hmmmm

I know someone on here is bound to have info on DHEA that can enlighten me.

At my appt with my RE today he mentioned to me that next month he is going to start me on DHEA. Since that was the first time I have heard about it I didn't have questions prepared for him. I did some reading online and I get that it helps women with DOR..... But I haven't had an issue with DOR plus, I'm doing an FET. I am AMA at 37 nearly 38 years of age...... Is DHEA also used to help with implantation? Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks

    Never heard that it helps with implantation. My RE wants me to take it because I am DOR and apparently it helps with numbers and quality. It has some side effects though. I was on 75mg/day (which is the recommended dosage for IVFers although recommended dosage for "normal" people is 25mg/day). My clockwork-like cycle is delayed twice and my cycles are reduced to 2-3 days from 5-6 days. I also have some facial hair growth and super oily hair. I am not liking it!

    IVF#1 (ICSI)-- April 2014-- MDL with BCP, 5R, 4 ICSID, 3dt with three embryos, 1 six-day freeze (2BA grade)-- BFN

    IVF#2.1 (ICSI)-- August 2014: MDL without BCP-- cancelled

    Natural IUI on 11/8 -- BFN

    IVF#2.2 (ICSI)--Nov/Dec 2014: MDL without BCP, 5R, 1 ICSID, frozen on day 6 (grade 2BB)

    FET #1: transferred two 5 (or 6?)day embryos on January 27. Beta #1 (2/4): 158, Beta #2 (2/6): 391 Beta #3(2/9): 1187 BFP! 

    First u/s at 5w1d showed one gestational sac and yolk sac. Second u/s at 6w showed heartbeat at 102. Third u/s at 7w heart rate 145. EDD 10/15/2015

    Apparently it's most helpful with egg quality if testosterone is abnormal...at least that's what RE said for my particular issues. I'm sticking to my coq10 and methylated folate till I'm told otherwise!

    TTC since 12/2012 Me: hypothyroid & egg issues
    DH: MFI
    IUI #1 BFN
    2nd treatment cycle: Clomid & TI BFN
    IUI #2 (injects) IUI BFN
    2/14 through 3/14 benched with a cyst
    IVF#1 CD1 came before beta. BFN. No frosties.
    Benched with cysts...
    IVF#2 beta moved up due to heavy bleeding 6dp5dt...beta was 11. beta#2 20.4! Beta#3 28 Chemical pregnancy :(
    Currently on BCPs with cysts, planning IVF#3 Everyone welcome!

    I found this site helpful when I was reading about DHEA:

    I'm not currently taking it but have been researching these options as I approach IVF.
