Maybe I'm jumping the gun a little, if I am, please tell me! Then again, I know some of us are major planners so maybe I'm not. I'd love to see progress pics of nurseries/furniture as we all plan and get ready for our LO's :x
Well... we made serious progress with the boarding on the walls this weekend, but still need to paint the doors and trim to match (and change outlet plate covers to gray ones) so it doesn't look great. It WILL look great eventually.
I'm so glad I'm doing this now and not when I'm big and miserable. I don't think I could've done it.

I love the boarding on the walls! How creative! We decided to go with a light gray in the nursery too, and got our furniture up! I am so anxious to start buying wall décor, curtains and bedding!! Thinking a yellow, you are my sunshine theme!
We've painted and then put part of the crib together just tonight. I'm hoping to finish crib tomorrow. The dresser is a huge project so we may be hiring a handy man to put it together!! Still looking for bedding that I actually like:(
If I took a picture of the nursery right now it would be so embarrassing. There's a half put together crib and a brand new swing covered with DH's work clothes, a huge old sony TV in the corner and a beer brewing kit, couple of guitar cases... Haha he's going to have to move out of the baby room soon!
@kstirton our space looks identical to yours - do you know the dimensions? Wondering what all we can fit in there as well (besides the existing junk)
I'm an interior designer and have been thinking about this for a long time (I would die to be a nursery/children's designer) and I think DH & I decided this weekend what we're planning to do in our daughter's nursery.
Here's what it looks like now:
(This weekend was the first time we could get to it as the stairs had just been installed)
But here's what we're planning to do for the walls (gray & white polka dot accent wall behind crib):
Here's the glider we recently purchased from buy buy baby and the furniture set we plan on purchasing from babies 'r us:
We'll do either a combo of pink and green or just coral as an accent paint & color. Our style is very mid-century modern so I was happy that we could find modern pieces at a very affordable price (crib was only $299).

@littleladyaks will you come design mine once your done?! Wish I was as creative as you! I can pin the hell out of pictures but have a hard time bringing everything together
Yeah, no pictures here either. Close your eyes and imagine a crib that needs to be put back together, a baby swing, a couple of guitars, and a computer desk. Oh and walls in need of a fresh coat of paint because a shelf fell. That's what it looks like right now!
I'm excited to get working on it though! We picked out the paint, a blue-ish color called "mist". It's going to be an Indianapolis Colts theme. I found some super awesome curtains today and my husband insists that the baby needs a framed jersey with our last name on it. Besides that we already have quite a bit of Colts stuff to put up, I just need to find a dresser.
I'd share a photo of mine but it's still the office currently. My husband should be taking it apart this weekend so I can paint. We're going to do gray walls, dark brown/black furniture and teal/lime green accents. I'm so excited!
I'm in the process of revamping a dresser that we bought on clearance this weekend, so the room is a bit messing from that. Otherwise it is still decorated like it was when my previous foster son lived in there. Super cool for a 12 year old boy, but not so much for a baby :-)
Here is mine so far.. We had the carpet replaced the carpet last week, the dresser is still in the box, and the crib should be on its way. We are doing purple with pops of turquoise, patterns not really a theme.
I LOVE this thread, I am obsessed with nurseries! I cannot wait to make the design in my head come to life.
I'm planning on doing pink, purple, and green. Wall decor will be prints of colorful birds. Pinterest board (already have the crib, dresser, and chair from DS) - https://www.pinterest.com/abbydusk/girl-nursery/
@kstirton I was on a Pinterest roll this weekend looking for ideas. I feel like as long as you stay within the same style (unless your going for an eclectic look) everything should pretty well work together.
Where I tend to struggle is color... I feel like I always do black/white/grey and one accent color. DH is trying to get me to branch out (the pink and green combo was his idea) but I'm really loving coral. What's your guys' take on our color palettes?

So our room is still a work in progress. Just finished the painting of the walls & they look like this: the accent wall and then light gray for all the other walls
This J (for Jacob) will go above his crib.
Furniture is the White DaVinci Piedmont Crib below and the Ikea Hemnes Dresser Then we are doing that zig zag fabric for the curtains which are being custom made by a crafty friend of mine along with a matching bed skirt, crib rails for later, little accent pillow for the glider and a changing pad cover (changing pad will go on dresser)
Above the changing table dresser I will have these 3 canvases I made -- loved the silhouette canvases in so many Pinterest nurseries but put a personal touch on it by using the silhouettes of my 2 dogs and 2 cats
Glider we'll be having is an actual fluffy rocker/recliner we got custom upholstered & is navy -- picking that up tomorrow & a white Hemnes side table next to it with some sort of coordinating lamp on top (still working on figuring that out)
Area Rug will be this blue shag & we'll have this toy box/seating in the room as well. :
Ummm.....

Yeah, that's about what mine looks like. Glad I'm not the only one. It's just so overwhelming!
Loving looking at all the nurseries! Even the works in progress.
We do not have a room for this LO in our house.... Yeah we plan stuff like that.
We plan to be out of this house before this LO moves to their own room so it seems silly to turn my office into a nursery OR set up DS's room to share with this LO.
So the baby's nursery will be my room too! My walls are lime green, so his bedding is lime green, blue, white, yellow striped. The crib, dresser/changing table, and glider will be white. The changing mat will be blue. Above the dresser/table will be baby's wall. My sister is making me a bunch of signs to go on the wall! I'll post pics when I start decorating:)
Ill be sharing my room with the baby. Right now its the same as when i moved in april......light bubblegum pink. Like not the hot pink with a chair rail and wall paper on the bottom half. Im thinking of leaving it because im a single mom working 40hrs /week so itll be forever by the time im done! Any suggestions???
Well mine is literally non existent until we move on Aug 15... I am an uber planner but due to unforeseen circumstances we had to move. I cannot imagine how stressed and fat I will be by then (29 weeks) I love all the baby rooms you ladies have!
My phone doesn't like to upload pics but the nursery at this moment is DS' s playroom so I'm sure you can all only imagine what that looks like at the moment
Oh wait, I have done something in the nursery! I installed a switch plate cover. Stand back, I'm on a roll :-)
@runningmama14 haha! Our outlet switch cover just came in the mail tonight but I'm not putting it on until all the painting is done (bc I know somehow paint will get on it).

Love the elephant one! If I had seen that first, I might have gotten that one. Our room is already painted, so I went ahead and put it up.

Where did you get it?? Did they have other designs? It's too cute!
We kept a full size bed in the nursery since we have out of state family that visit so we tried to match it to the nursery. There is also a rocking chair and dresser in the room that match the crib. The wall art consists of gray and white chevron and pink. You are not jumping the gun, it's better to be prepared and working in the nursery while you have the energy.
No pics here, but we are just adding a crib to SD's room. She is only here every other weekend, so she doesn't mind sharing. We told her that if she ever moves in with us that we would do away with our computer room so she can have her room to herself. Hopefully she doesn't decide to do that one week after baby gets here or we are gonna be stressed!

DH and I just assembled the crib and dresser last night and I was worried that we were rushing things. So I am very glad to see all of these nursery pictures. I wanted the big stuff to be done before I lose my energy. We went with white furniture and light grey walls. I am considering doing an accent wall but we are not sure exactly which colors we are doing for the bedding. A family friend is going to make a quilt for the baby and my mom is going to make some matching curtains. I have a toy box that my dad made for me when I was little that we have to fix up a bit and a glider that we hope to put in the room too. Lots of ideas but only part of the furniture is done
These nursery pictures and ideas are so amazing. I have bought my furniture, and my theme is elephants. I hope to go with a blue and gray pattern for the walls. For the life of me I can't find bedding for the crib! Any one have any ideas of where to find nice crib bedding featuring elephants?
@absolutleymaybe where did you get the light switch cover? It would work in my nursery.
My husband is working hard at finishing our basement so we can move our spare room furniture down there and our upstairs bedroom can become the nursery. My Mom and Step Dad are coming down in August and want to help put everything together. The planner in me wishes I could decorate today but one project at a time. Happy decorating ladies!

Love this thread and seeing all the pics! I have zero progress, other than getting some clothes and hand-me-downs. I just moved from NY to MI a couple of weeks ago, and our baby girl's "nursery" will actually be my brother-in-law's former bedroom which I'm currently using as a home office. I'll have to work around the existing old furniture and the blue-green paint. We move back to the east coast in June so I don't want to get too attached!
For anyone feeling behind on their nursery, here's ours to make you feel a touch better. House completion date is end of September, so I'm going to be one very pregnant nursery-decorator!
Question!! What are you all doing for bedding? Any ideas for a budget friendly way to get everything you need? I'm finding that a lot of the sets are so expensive and don't even come w/ the crib bumper!!
Ours is still the guest bedroom. We have got to get rolling. I have the bedding narrowed down. We just have to decide on new furniture for DD so the nursery furniture can be moved after we paint. I'm not really in any huge hurry since DD never used her nursery till 8-9 months.

That's the fun in it it seeing the transformation!!
My nursery room was a catch all before we got a + test!! I think our dimensions are 11x12 I think.
Love seeing all the gray! What color (s) is everyone accenting with??
