Silly question

Can cats know I'm pregnant before I know? They like to cuddle but the past few days/week or so they have been more loving than normal and both on my stomach. It could be all in my head hoping it's the reason though.

Cats are fickle, they do whatever they want every day of their lives. I doubt they would be able to notice anything before a test could pick it up. Tests are quite accurate and sensitive.

Not sure. However, once other people could feel DS move at about 22 weeks our cat started being creepy and staring, batting and trying to get under my shirt to lick my stomach. When my belly started to create a gap between my shirt and pants she would always try to clean me. She did this until I gave birth and then continued to lick DS after he was born. They are still BFFs. This is an old picture. I don't think a cat could know you are pregnant though. Or, at least I wouldn't use it as a "sign".

Symptom spotting, whether it's reading too much into every fart or twinge you feel or looking for pregnancy confirmation in your cats' varying affections, is crazy inducing and just not healthy behaviour. Unfortunately I've been TTC for almost two years now, so I've long ago trained myself to not engage in all of those "what if" and "could it be" self discussions and rely solely on pregnancy tests, for my own sanity and peace of mind. Obsessing over every little thing and what it might mean in terms of a possible pregnancy never helped me and in fact only made the arrival of my period each cycle that much more devastating. I found taking on more responsibilities at work and throwing myself into some hobbies helped me to keep my mind off of things and stop myself from obsessing all the time, I'd advise you to find something similar to keep you busier.

I would totally be a symptom watcher, because we are so excited about having a LO and don't even get to start trying yet! I'll have to watch that though, because I get the impression that's annoying in this forum.

As for the cat thing, it might sound silly, but I totally think cats/dogs can pick up on pregnancy! There's research of dogs being able to detect prostate cancer, so anythings possible. Still, be prepared for utter coincidence if it doesn't happen, just so you're not too bummed!! Still, it is fun to think about!

I'm gonna be the crazy cat lady here, so I fully expect some laughs from this. Both cats and dogs have instincts, intuition that goes far beyond our understanding. How does a cat know an earthquake is coming? How does a dog know his owner is coming home before the owner is even on the same street? Plenty of other examples where cats/dogs have proven that their senses are much more heightened than we realize. So I do believe that yes they can tell when you're pregnant and may start behaving differently. However, using that as a "ooh they jumped on my belly I must be pregnant" - no.

I would definitely say that cats are not trustworthy enough with their behavior to base any assumptions on them. Go POAS and that will answer it for you
