walking continued this past week and it was great. i have upped my mileage to about 4 miles at a time. i am not a fan of how long it takes (i am used to quicker more intense workouts) but i am really enjoying being outside and baby boy loves his stroller
GTKY: any plans for getting back in shape? i know we havent taken much time off but any ideas on how to ease back into working out?
i am waiting until my 6 week pp checkup to begin anything more intense than walking because i had a bad tear. i am so competitive that i am afraid i will just jump right into working out hard again! walking will likely be boring by then too. would love to hear some ideas from you all to help me ease into my routine
I'm totally a drop out on running while pregnant - the New England winter (my first) took me out BUt I did keep up with working out. I'm almost 5 weeks pp and itching to go for a run. So far I've been walking daily and doing some light weights at home. I feel great but I'm also cautious of pushing it too soon (still having some spotting too). I had an easy recovery though (no tearing) so I may venture a short jog soon. I do love walking and do it daily anyway (with dogs and kids who want to bike!) but I'm itching for something more intense
Definitely forgot today was Monday. Wow, this maternity leave thing is messing with my head!!
Runs: walked twice for the first time since LO arrived. Went a very slow mile and a half both times. She does not really like the stroller, but hoping she starts soon!! I'm excited to run again!
GTKY: plan right now is just to keep walking and increase distance/speed. I have my 2 week pp appointment tomorrow so maybe I'll hear good news relating to exercise. I am super competitive with myself so I know I can't even jog a little before the doctor clears me because I'm sure I would push myself too far. Hoping not to have to start over entirely with c25k, but if I do I'm sure it will be fine.
It's so weird going from running the day before LO arrives to sitting on hte couch and maybe walking a little...
I wasn't much for exercise while pregnant... Just did some stretching and lots of walking, but now at 6 weeks pp it was killing me not to do more than just walking. My recovery had been pretty easy and I have been walking a few miles each day with no problems so my doctor cleared me to go back to my regular prepreg routine! I actually went swimming on Saturday and it was glorious in the 90 degree weather! Today I started a more intense workout routine of T25... I'm doing all of the modified steps though and will work my way into the really hard stuff! I didn't want to push myself (or pee myself!) with all of the jumping! It felt great to sweat for a reason other than a sleeping baby on me!
