1. How far along are you now?

2. Any updates - doctors appointments, ultrasounds, labwork, etc?
Regular monthly OB appointment tomorrow. Currently on the phone with my perinatologist/MFM office trying to get my anatomy scan scheduled. Is too harsh to say that I hate some of the office people at this office? They are seriously disturbing my calm. And their hold music is hella loud. And I'm constantly fighting my insurance to get them to cover the appointments, so I'm not having a good experience with their office this time around (third time is SO not the charm).
3. How are your symptoms?
Good. Blood sugars are doing really well. I got carsick on Saturday on the drive back home from my parents' house, so my sugars were crazy high on the drive, but they've been fine since.
4. GTKY: What is the best dish you make? Bonus points for recipes (or links to them)!
I love cooking and make a lot of good stuff, so it's hard to figure out what I would consider the best. Probably my lasagne. Although, I haven't made one since we started doing gluten free, so I have no idea if a gluten-free lasagne noodle would be the same. Maybe I should experiement this week...
ETA: OMG, to vs too. I'm an editor, for goodness' sake!
I think it's time I join! I'm 15w5d and I'm quite a mess these days. This is my second week of bedrest because of spotting (they can't figure out where it's coming from) which seems to have stopped this week. I have low progesterone so I'm on suppositories through 2nd tri. I also had a cervical surgery (cone biopsy) a couple of years ago for high-grade cervical dysplasia. This puts me at high-risk for a weak cervix.
I have my first cervical measurement check on Thursday at my 16 week appointment. Depending on the measurements, we'll decide what to do from there. Hopefully, things look great, but I was already measuring at 30mm in the ER the other night at 15 weeks, so I'm not too hopeful that things will go great.
GTKY: When I have time, I make a pretty good lasagna, too. I make the sauce from scratch, so it takes all day. We don't have it more than a couple of times a year because I hate the clean up! I don't really have a recipe because I just throw stuff in, but for the meat sauce, I use beef and pork. Yummy!

Last week's appointment went great. Still no protein in the urine sample. Really excited! Thank you immune system for leaving my kidneys alone!
3. How are your symptoms?
I'm feeling kind of gross today. I'm hoping it's not from when DH's cousin's kid threw up on me this weekend. Poor little guy got super sick and puked like 5 times. I'm really paranoid about catching anything so hopefully this isn't related.

Whiskey Orange Pulled PorkSpice Rub:1 tbsp dark brown sugar (I used regular)2 tsp ground cumin2 tsp black pepper2 tsp smoked paprika (I used regular paprika)1 1/2 tsp garlic powder1/4 tsp chili powder 1/4 tsp ground coriander Pulled Pork:3lbs boneless pork butt (also called shoulder)1tbsp vegetable oil1/4 white onion, thinly sliced 3 garlic clovesJuice of 2 blood or regular oranges (I used 1/4 cup of orange juice.)1 1/2 c. tomato puree (soup or sauce would also work)1/4 c. whiskey or bourbon1/4 c. apple cider vinegar1 tbsp molasses1 tbsp honey Directions:preheat oven to 300In a small bowl mix spice rub ingredients. Use your hands to pat it on the pork butt, until completely coated. Reserve leftover spice rub.warm oil in 5qrt Dutch oven over med heat. Add onionand garlic and cook, stirring until softened, 2-3 min. Add pork butt and let it brown 3-5 min per side. Whisk together remaining ingredients and left over spice rub and add it to dutch oven. Bring mixture to a boil and cook for 10 min. Turn off the heat, cover the pot, and put it in the oven. @ashtonkitty1, That pie looks amazing! I want to eat my monitor.

Thanks, @RN536! Things are going well over here
1. How far along are you now? 17 weeks tomorrow
2. Any updates - doctors appointments, ultrasounds, labwork, etc? Nothing until my anatomy scan and 20wk appointment at the end of the month. I need to make an appointment with a new rheumatologist now that we're all moved in, so that's on my radar, but I'm not due for a rheumy appt for a couple months.
3. How are your symptoms? Doing pretty good these days; it's been over a week since my last contractions, so definitely doing better there.
4. GTKY: What is the best dish you make? Bonus points for recipes (or links to them)!
This apple pie is hands down the best I've ever had and is a frequent request from friends. It's vegan, gluten-free, and amazing! https://janeshealthykitchen.com/paleo-apple-pie/ I use the "paleo vegan pie crust" she references and cut down a bit on the sugar. My favorite version is to use the mini-muffin tins and parchment liners to make mini-pies; they are adorable and bite size so perfect for parties or larger gatherings!
2. Any updates - doctors appointments, ultrasounds, labwork, etc? Waiting on AFP. I hope and pray all is well.
3. How are your symptoms? I have lots of energy now during the day. Craving healthier options now. I can't complain!
4. GTKY: What is the best dish you make? Bonus points for recipes (or links to them)!
I suck at cooking, but I can make a good roast in the crock pot.
1. How far along are you now?
16 weeks, 3 days
2. Any updates - doctors appointments, ultrasounds, labwork, etc?
I had an appointment today. The ultrasound to check cervix length went well - still 3 cm! They took more bloodwork too. Got to see baby- he/she was moving all around and tech. thinks it might be a boy. I'm honestly bummed about that
3. How are your symptoms?
Pretty non-existant... just emotional and not interested in food. Not really a bump yet. Not sure when that will change...
4. GTKY: What is the best dish you make? Bonus points for recipes (or links to them)!
I'm not much of a cook, but I hope to start once I'm settled into my new house and kitchen. Right now I'm at a Macaroni and Cheese /Rice Krispie Treats level lol
1. How far along are you now?- 15 weeks 3 days
2. Any updates - doctors appointments, ultrasounds, labwork, etc?- I finished my medication on Monday night and have been feeling a lot better since. Only 60% success rate and we won't know until more tests are completed after the 25th
3. How are your symptoms?
Still have morning sickness off and on. On Thursday I went shopping and started to have another flare up -all day Friday everything I ate didn't stay in...hopefully that was the meds kicking into gear. Saturday night I couldn't walk because I had such sharp shooting uterus/bowel (something down there) pain. I am so glad to be feeling good the last 2 days!
4. GTKY: What is the best dish you make? Bonus points for recipes (or links to them)!
Tofu casserole....DH was never a vegetarian but loves it....(I just haven't made it lately because of all the beans and thought it would be hard on my system)
ingredients:
1/2 eggplant cut into 1 inch cubes
2 medium zucchini cut into 1 inch cubes
1 red bell pepper cut into 1 inch cubes
1/4 cup vegetable oil
3 cloves of garlic
1 lb firm tofu
1 onion peeled and chopped
2 -14oz cans of baked beans
1 handful of chopped parsley
2 cups of any grated cheese
-Preheat oven to 425F toss eggplant, zucchini and pepper with some veg oil. spread out on lined baking sheets to roast for 20 min. Remove and reset oven to 325F
-in sauté pan heat 1/4 cup veg oil on medium, Slice cloves are garlic into thirds and fry tofu until golden brown. Drain tofu, remove garlic and pat dry tofu to clear of excess oil. Saute onion. Add to roasted veggies.
-In baking pan 9 x 13 inches add baked beans, tofu, parsley and veggies and mix well. Top with shredded cheese. Bake for 10-15 minutes or until it is bubbly.
So good now I want to make it.
1. How far along are you now? 15w6d! It is really starting to go fast now that I'm out of first tri.
2. Any updates - doctors appointments, ultrasounds, labwork, etc? I had a routine OB appointment last week. HB was found immediately with the doppler (whew!), and it was 145. I'm still thinking boy(!!), but we will find out on July 31 at my anatomy scan. I am so impatient--I almost wanted to pay out of pocket for one of those Harmony/Panorama/MaterniT21 tests so we could find out early. I'm also a little anxious that they will find a horrible anomaly at my anatomy scan, so it will be good to get that part out of the way.
3. How are your symptoms? Other than sore boobs and being a little more tired than usual, I've got nothin'. I feel a flutter every now and then, but not super frequently and sometimes I'm not even sure that's what I'm feeling.
4. GTKY: What is the best dish you make? Bonus points for recipes (or links to them)! This is hard because I really love to cook! I think chili is probably the one dish I make the best, on a consistent basis. I'd love to link a recipe, but I do something a little different every time I make it! Ground beef, pinto beans, black beans, Ro-Tel, tons of seasonings, sometimes pickled peppers, sometimes fresh. Whatever strikes me at the time!
1. How far along are you now?
I am 18 + 3
2. Any updates - doctors appointments, ultrasounds, labwork, etc?
Unfortunately, yes. I have a placenta that is wrapped around the bottom of my uterus, right on top of my cervix (so they doubt it will move). I also have a short and shortening cervix. Also, they don't think that the umbilical cord is attached in the good part of the placenta. On top of that, my bleed is still going strong.
3. How are your symptoms?
I don't actually have many symptoms. I'm still taking it easy, not lifting much, not moving around much.
4. GTKY: What is the best dish you make? Bonus points for recipes (or links to them)!
I don't think I'm the best cook, but i can always nail my vegetarian spicy salad: https://allrecipes.com/recipe/zesty-southern-pasta-and-bean-salad/Detail.aspx (with Ranch instead of Italian dressing)
and banana cream pie: https://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Banana-Cream-Pie-I/Detail.aspx?event8=1&prop24=SR_Thumb&e11=banana%20cream%20pie&e8=Quick%20Search&event10=1&soid=sr_results_p1i5
2. Any updates? Had anatomy scan yesterday and all looks good.
3.How are your symptoms? Past few days have been good...knock on wood. Day by day...each day that goes by is another triumph and brings more hope .
4. GTKY
I am not a great cook....something I would like to work on
17 weeks 1 day
2. Any updates - doctors appointments, ultrasounds, labwork, etc?
Still working on getting my blood sugar levels on track with insulin before the pregnancy really starts affecting it. I was not on insulin before, just metformin, so there has been a lot of adjusting insulin. Had an appointment last week and heard baby's heartbeat- that is always so comforting. Next week I will be going to the high risk doctor for the first time and hopefully will find out the baby's sex!
3. How are your symptoms?
I am not really having any symptoms right now. Though I do have a migraine that is on it's third day...ready for it to go away!
4. GTKY: What is the best dish you make?
My husband LOVES this...thank you Pinterest!

4. GTKY: What is the best dish you make? Bonus points for recipes (or links to them)!
kahlua pork in the crock pot. Basically you wrap pork butt roast in a banana leaf after sprinkling liberally with Hawaiian sea salt and liquid smoke. Cook on low for 20 hours. Shred and enjoy!
Thanks, me too! They gave me the option of just staying on metformin or going on insulin early on because they assumed that I would eventually be on it during the pregnancy anyway. I wanted to get used to giving it to myself so I opted to go ahead and start. It isn't as bad as I imagined it would be. Hopefully you don't have to worry about it though!!
