Ovulation cramps?

Anybody get cramps during ovulation time? If so, was it before actual ovulation? Do you know how long before? I got a positive OPK on Thursday and was crampy that afternoon and a little the next day, wondering if I can pinpoint ovulation by my cramps?

The only way you can pin point ovulation is by temping. The cramps, known as mittleschmerz, can occur in relationship to ovulation, but it is definitely not a reliable method.

I used to think that there was a direct correlation, but, like @meredithcarole stated, the cramps could be days off. 

I don't remember--are you charting or temping? You might want to use Fertility Friend or another app to track your symptoms in the 2WW for a few months just to see when they happen in correlation with your O.

I've never temped but I frequently cramp mid-cycle. 99% of the time it's on the same day of my ovulation according to my fertility app, though.

I had severe cramps this cycle before ovulating, but I was taking letrozole so that was to be expected. I think the cramps led up to the ovulation, but ceased once I'd actually popped the egg.
