3 days late, negative tests?

AF was due Friday, 7/4... Now Sunday night and no signs she will be making an appearance. Tested Friday and Saturday first thing in the morning, both negative. What's up? Didn't test today bc it's so disappointing to see the "not pregnant" sign, but I'm always SO regular. Just too soon to tell still?!

Are you charting your Basal Body Temperature (BBT)?  This would be the only reliable way to know if you are late because you can track when you ovulated and therefore when to expect your period.  If you know you are late, then a negative pregnancy test means you are not pregnant at this time.

Have you read the newbie blog here?  I highly recommend you read through it to get both valuable information about your body as well as how to enjoy your time on The Bump boards!  Many of the ladies here are very knowledgeable and do not use the "cutesy" acronyms often used in other forums.  

Wait or test, or wait and test - that will be the only way to know.  Good luck!

You're totally pregnant. Call your doctor in the morning to schedule your appointment. When they go to have you do a urine test just let them know there's no need because your period was "late" so obviously you're pregnant.

Which is why I said "had avoided", past tense. I can see I should go back to avoiding. I was hoping this would be a helpful, supportive community, but obviously that's too much to ask.

Wow thanks so much for the responses and honest feedback... I am new to the forums here but haven't gotten nearly as much feedback on other sites. I genuinely appreciate it.

I am tracking my temperatures but I feel like they are wildly inconsistent... For example, during my fertile week they were as low as 96.9 and as high as 97.9... But lacking the pattern(s) I keep reading about. They have been slightly elevated past my fertile window, but I guess I don't know how much is "enough," really.

My sister in law is an OBGYN and tells me my best indicator of fertility is CM, which I pay far greater attention to. Just debating whether I should bother testing again tmw or just continue with the "hurry up and wait" game.

Women ovulate only one side a month. That doesn't mean it goes left, right, left, right. It can go right, right, left, right... ect. Many women intermittently fail to release an egg on either side and this ends up essentially being 8 weeks or more without a period. Three days isn't cause to assume you are pregnant yet.

My cm and cp are more reliable than my temp too.

Are you temping orally or vaginally?  I had really erratic temps too (not temping yet this time around), which was most likely due to temping orally (sleeping with mouth open, etc.)

I wasn't saying anything is wrong with lurking, I lurk alot too, because I find I don't have much to post.  I was saying that it's kinda bad that she essentially did a drive by, which other PP also pointed out.

I didn't know that about the dates however, only thought that was the time on TB.

Apparently you should keep avoiding them.  A sense of humour and willingness to learn are necessary qualities for this board, neither of which you have, but both of which the OP has as she took our advice to heart and thanked us for helping her.  And how helpful were you to the OP, other than spewing random negativity on a board you know nothing about?  Don't let the door hit you on the way out, Babygaga is calling and wants its rainbow glitter farts back.

I am ttc my second baby. My first was born 1.2.13. When I was pregnant with him, I had two negative pregnancy tests back to back two days after what should have been the first day of my period. The tests I used were low sensitive hcg home pregnancy tests. When I tested positive 2 days after the neg test date, I was shocked. I asked my midwife about it at my first visit and she said lots of women initially test negative because they test too early, body not making high levels of hcg and women not using first urine of day. I am not telling you this to give you a false sense of hope as I'm sure majority of tests are accurate, but i would retest in a couple of days for sure. My midwife recommended waiting at least a week after date missed period for accurate result.
