How did your family party go? Did you survive?

Thanks for asking. There were some wonderful things about the w/e especially celebrating my nephew's 5th birthday, taking L to fireworks for the first time and DH and I eating at the restaurant where we had our first date in 2005.

That being said, spending time with my family is challenging. Every sentence out of my sister's mouth started with 'when you're pregnant' regardless of what she was talking about. Since LO was a bit shy and needed time to warm up it was suggested by a few people that she needs a sibling. I don't know how that would help her shyness but whatever. Maybe it's because she's 2 and doesn't know many of these people despite being family.
I felt in control of choosing not to reveal fertility issues and responding with a very noncommittal 'we'll see,' and then changing the subject.
Can I say I am much more at ease with DH's dad, SM and that side of the family than I am with mine.

Sounds pretty awkward. But yay for some positive stuff too! I'm glad YH has such great family.

I'm glad you were able to have some great positive memories.

Hearing "he needs a sibling because/or else..." grated on my last freakin' nerve. I don't know why people think that is helpful at all.
