Cloth Diapering

Swimming in a cover

I know there are swim covers and I know people use old covers that might be delaminating, but is there any reason I shouldn't use a regular cover that I use every day? Will the chlorine damage my perfectly good and useful covers? I don't want to ruin anything, but I don't really want to buy a newborn swim diaper. And I don't have anything old to use.

The chlorine might damage the elastic or something. But I didn't think people used covers with exposed PUL. I use unstuffed pockets.

  • I used to worry a lot about chlorine in pools, but when my friend had her liner replaced and they refilled the pool, they just used regular water from the hose. Their pool company said it didn't need any added chlorine b/c there is already so much in our city's water. I know that's probably not true of all pools, but perhaps you will be lucky??

  • @TJ1979 You're right about using pockets. I don't have any newborn pockets, so I guess I'll be getting a swim diaper. Nicki's has one with free shipping for $5, so that should work.
