Cloth Diapering

Dying fabric

I still need a crib skirt for DS2's room, and I'm thinking about dying the one from DS1's room since we don't use it anymore. It's blue chambray material, and I need it to be teal. How hard would it be to dye it and get it all a fairly uniform color without ruining my clothes and staining my hands and arms? I'd probably have to do it outside, right?

I had to dye some fabric for curtains and I just did it in my laundry tub and wore rubber gloves and I had no issues.

Use Dylon, Tulip, or Dharma dyes (if the fabric is a natural material).. You can use Jacquard iDye if it is polyester. I've never had much luck with RIT having a uniform color.

My laundry sink is in the garage and hard to access, so I'd be better off outside. I think we have a rubbermaid tote sitting empty that I can use.
