Sangria help

I want to make sangria for girls night tomorrow. I am following MIL's recipes which calls for 2 bottles of sweet red, blackberry brandy, triple sec, pineapple juice, and frozen fruit. I thought about changing it because hers is too sweet. Can I do one bottle sweet and one bottle dry??? I also thought of switching pineapple juice to pineapple soda. Thoughts?

My resource for these questions is allrecipes.com - I just look for the highest rated recipe. But you really can't go wrong with alcohol and fruit :)

i just use a bottle of wine (either red or white, something on the sweeter side), and a splash of triple sec. sometimes i add a splash of fruit juice. i don't like it to be too sweet. i think it's also better with fresh fruit, because more of the flavor from the fruit gets dissolved into the alcohol. bobby flay has good sangria recipes.
