Shoes

Are any S13 lo in shoes ?

LO has been pulling up and cruising and I have her wearing a pair of soft sole leather shoes that were gifted to her. She's never worn shoes before but now that she is more mobile I am wanting to get her a few pairs.

What are your recommendations?

Re: Shoes

  • At home she is barefoot. Usually when we go out she takes them off in the car so I wait to put them on until we get there. Once she starts walking I would like to get her a good pair too but I'm not sure what to get either.

  • We took LO to stride rite about a month ago because I wanted a pair to wear when we are out in public and he's trying to stand. He measured a size 4 wide but nothing fit his chubby little feet! The sales girl and I tried a bunch and even went up half a size. We left empty handed but will try again soon.

  • DS can only pull up to his knees at this point. He is barefoot or in socks at the house. He has bad skin and his ankles will crack and bleed so that is why he wears socks still a lot at home.

When we go out I like to keep his feet covered. People like to touch his feet and also I don't want him rubbing them on something and making a sore.

All of that to say he has these shoes and they are great. They fit his fat feet and he doesn't kick them off
  • She is barefoot all the time. We don't own a pair of shoes for her yet.
When she starts cruising I will do like I did for my son and go to Stride rite. I actually looked today while we were shopping at an outlet mall but I didn't see any that I "had" to buy today. :)

  • We're also mainly barefoot, She has a pair of soft leather shoes that we used when it wasn't quite summer yet but it's just too hot now.

  • My LO is pulling up and standing all the time.  At home he is barefoot.  Sometimes when we go out he wears a pair of sandals but they are just mostly for looks.  Once he really starts walking I need to get him a pair of appropriate shoes.

  • She is cruising right now and is barefoot at home. When we are out she wears a pair of soft soled shoes by Pediped. They fit well and have lasted quite a while now.

  • We got a pair of toms and love them! So easy to put on them.
  • No shoes here. She's crawling and cruising. When she starts walking, I'll keep her barefoot at home and get some shoes for when she is walking away from home. Haven't looked into any types of shoes yet, but will take consideration of the ones mentioned here.

  • I plan to keep her barefoot as long as possible. It's good for their feet and development

We're still barefoot here too. She has a pair of sandals MIL got her just because they're cute but still doesn't wear them. If she's wearing anything it is usually the Barefoot sandals I made her. I'll probably only worry about it when Fall comes.
  • We leave LO barefoot (unless it's cold) until they are walking quite well. Barefoot is best for learning to walk. I don't care if LO's feet get dirty. Being barefoot for learning to walk is more important to us.

When we need socks or shoes we start with Skidders. They are amazing. I love that I can wash them.

DD has worn soft sole Robeez when out in public for a few months because she loves standing. But they seem too hot now that it's 90 degrees and humid. She started walking last week so I bought her a pair of Stride Rite stage 2 sandals for when we are outside or somewhere gross. At home or in homes of family and friends she is barefoot. When I'm at work the babysitter leaves her barefoot inside an uses the shoes for outside. I'm OK with barefoot out on our patio or somewhere similar but not places like the sidewalk in front of Starbucks.

ETA She also has Skidders but they seem way too hot and leave her feet stinky! I'll try them again in the fall.
