So, I'm renting an apartment through airbnb in august in Chicago. Email the host and ask if there is a crib or pnp available. He says, "no. Let me know what you require. You may have to provide your own pnp."
So, I write back and ask if he would be able to get one, that I am willing to pay him extra, because I don't want to lug my pnp. His response??
"I raised two children both born in 2007. I believe it is the parents responsibility to provide for their own children's transportation, food, shelter and safety.
I donated all my strollers, cribs, play packs ... Years ago.
You will figure it out.
Pretty sure you are best at caring for and providing for your children."
Wtf? Dude, it's just a pack and play. Am I missing something here where I asked him to raise my child for me?
Re: Snarky airbnb host (Tl;dr)
Yeesh. What a Dick
All he had to say is "no, sorry"
"The only reason I asked you is that you said in the above email "let me know your requirements, you MAY need your own pack and play." I have no problem providing for my children. I have stayed at many properties through vrbo, homeaway, and airbnb around the world and have always been provided a place for the baby to sleep, therefore, I thought it couldn't hurt to ask.
I find the tone of your email pretty rude. You are providing a service, no need to be insulting."
I wanted to be worse, but I am going to have to stay in this guys place so I don't want him to screw me over, he has too much of my money!
Thanks so much @laurelbee, you are so sweet! I found some online for like $35, and there is a target pretty close by to the apartment, so I guess I will just buy one and donate it. Or ship it back and give it to a friend if I can't find somewhere close by to donate. I am definitely not leaving it there to make his rental better!
Speaking of which, when am I supposed to put him in a bed? He is unaware he can get out of his crib yet, and part of me wants to just keep him in there until he is 5
DS never figured out how to get out of his crib and when we switched him to his toddler bed, he wouldn't get out of it either. He's pretty lazy though.
Can you use one of the smaller collapsible beds and just keep him in your room? Will he actually wander around? Most kids aren't super adventurous in the dark...
@NotSharknado, how far away are you? Did I know you were close?
