I have a question for the women who have gone through IVF before. There is a possibility that I might be starting a new job in September (part time position only teaching one day a week at the college level) while I go back to school part time for my doctorate. Right now our plan was to do one more round of IUI and then move to IVF. I'm just feeling defeated and getting so tired of failed IUI cycles. My clinic said there is a chance we could make an August IVF cycle work and skip my last IUI.
I don't want to rush things, but if it works out do you ladies think an August IVF cycle (mid August ER) would make more sense since I'm starting school/new job in September? Class would be one night a week and teaching would be one day a week in September so it's a pretty light schedule....I *think* I know what's involved in the IVF process but I'm not sure about how much time you need to take off for the egg retrieval and recovery.
I still have a lot to think about. I know we could always move things even later in the year but part of me wants to move to IVF with the PGS testing so we can have a more definitive answer if I'm at the end of my baby making road or not.
I appreciate your thoughts....

Re: Timing for IVF
I'm going through my second IVF now. If your schedule is that light I would think you could work around it. Egg retrieval requires a couple of days rest and transfer also requires a little rest but nothing excessive. Otherwise, I would think you could make your monitoring appointments around your schedule.
If I was you, I would want to be done with it. I would just jump into it in August...but I'm always a little impulsive.
