If you have an iPhone, I can help further. I posted here because PM's won't let me upload pics from my phone. [for those lurking, we're learning how to do mobile gifs]

See my uploads for screen shots. But you find your gif, then at the bottom right there's a button that has 3 bar/squares, select that. Next you will choose view image--this takes you to the image directly so you can then copy the link in the address bar. Which below is the link of the gif in the pic.

Also for others who are curious, you can post gifs in PM's!

The code you have to manually type follows as below: just remove that first * star/asterisk and insert your own gif link and voila!
<*img src="https://37.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m7kwtoVjMR1rziwwco1_250.gif">

Another tip, if the iMage doesn't have https:// infront of the link it never works for me, so you sometimes have to manually type in the https://

Nope, just the link. Remove the asterisk and Put this before the https://

And put this after .gif
">

No spaces. The only space is between img & src
