STILL peeing constantly?

I'm going crazy...I'm peering even more than I was during pregnancy and I'm 4 weeks pp. I went to the doctor and he had no idea why. It's keeping me up at night and I'm wondering if anyone else is experiencing this. I'm not drinking anymore than normal! I guess next stop would be a urologist....

Re: STILL peeing constantly?

  • I'm 8.5 weeks out and dealing with it. At my 6 week checkup my OB told me that it can take up to 3 months for everything to fully heal. She recommended keeping up with Kegels and doing bladder training and said that if it gets worse/is accompanied by other UTI symptoms to call and we will do a urine culture. If it's still not improving after 3 months we will evaluate further.

I'm really forgetful of the Kegels but just with the bladder training I've noticed an improvement. It's kind of stressful to keep up with but if I start slacking at it I know the urinary frequency worsens again so I really push myself to keep up with it.

Bedtime is probably the hardest for me. I really need to stop bumping in bed after my whole bedtime routine because right now it's been 15 minutes and I really feel the urge to pee again and I know I'm going to have to prior to falling asleep.

@curlylocks3‌ that's good to know your doctor said it was normal. My dr seemed uncorked as well, but I can't help but think something is wrong. I'm going more than I was in pregnancy- at least 4 times an hr. I had a urine culture done and it was negative so not sure what else is possible. I'm so uncomfortable.

  • Ok so what I read was that your bladder becomes sensitized to being "full"...as in you think it's full and you need to pee when you really don't. Peeing super often only reinforces this.

Do you know how much you actually pee each time (the volume)? If it's a small amount (what was happening to me) times voiding (aka peeing at regular intervals) can help. I was probably going 4x an hour when I started and slowly started increasing the length of time between when I pee. Trying different positions sitting or lying and distractions have helped me. It's hard to not go pee every time you feel the urge but I'd always remind myself I had JUST peed and that my bladder can't possibly be full yet. And despite all of my fears, I've not peed myself.
