Fever questions..

My lil guy had a horrible day. Woke up with a fever ... I'm guessing from teething. His top two teeth broke threw a lil. An on top of that. He was fast enough to grab a wasp and it stung his hand. His lil fingers and hand got swollen. So we did Benadryl. Also been rotating Tylenol and Motrin for the fever. Question is how long do we wait to see if the fever goes down ? He has gone down some. But stayed around 100. I hate that he is feeling so horrible.

So sorry he does not feel well. But maybe he will be a ninja if he can grab a wasp!

For the fever I think it's 2 or 3 days before the Dr wants you to come in but I would call your Dr in the morning to make sure since there is an injury involved.

If fever continues till tomorrow I would take him to his pediatrician. 100 is not bad - I don't even give tylenol anymore if we get those (And sometimes she gets 100 if it was too hot outside). Give him a lukewarm bath and a cold wet towel on his forehead. And then just watch him and see how he does. How high was the original fever? I also usually take rectal temperatures with my baby girl just for accuracy purposes. Hope he feels better soon!

I would at least call the pedi tomorrow morning to see what they recommend. I would probably take my LO in since it's a weekend but I'm also ridiculously over cautious. Hope your LO feels better soon!

thanks everyone! I worry a ton. As I'm sure all moms do. I had called dr today. And they said just to watch him and rotate the Motrin and Tylenol. I just hate seeing him feel like this.

Curious why it is recommended to rotate between the 2? I've seen that posted on here before but can't seem to remember the benefit of it.. My DD woke up with a fever this morning and I don't have Tylenol.. Maybe I should go out and get Motrin.

Thanks! He is better now. Saturday tho he had an allergic reaction to something. We are still trying to figure it out. He got splotchy spots on his face and they were a lil puffy. Still had it a lil Sunday. But then after his sister sat next to him in the car she had a spot on her cheek. We did Benadryl and hers went all the way away. And today his is gone. It's driving me crazy wondering what it cld of been. He acted fine. I washed everything including car seat. So we will see. Glad the fever is gone He just had a rough week!! Thanks everyone!!
