Some mostly good news

DS's endocrinologist ordered a bone age xray, to determine whether DS needs growth hormone. DS, 4.5 years, has been taking medication for hypothyroidism since he was 16 months, and his last 2 blood tests showed his growth hormone was at the low end of normal.
Turns out, DS is a late bloomer. Doctor explained his wrist bones are 2 years behind his chronological age. This means he doesn't need growth hormone. He will enter puberty probably 2 years later than average, and keep growing 2 years later than most boys.

Re: Some mostly good news

  • He has a late birthday (October) and our cut off is September.
I'm not thinking that far ahead, yet. I am just happy he won't need daily injections right now.
