Just when you think that you have it down...

The last thing I want to post about is sleeping!!! However, I'm curious to see if this is happening with others. We have been STTN now for about 2 months. It was 6:30/7-
6 am. Then daylight savings happened and we have been getting up at 5. I've been trying to push his bed time back gradually but he is exhausted at bestime. So I made peace with getting up at 5. For the last week, our lo is waking up at 4:00 am. He will not go back to sleep. He will resettling in out arms but the second you move to put him down...sobs. This am he got up at 3:30 and we tried for 1 and 15 minutes to get him to sleep to no avail.

Any advice? Anyone in the same boat?

I should add that I don't let him in our bed to sleep. However the other day was so tired that I did as an experiment and he slept until almost 6. My dh and I don't want to get into this habit.

  • The 5 am wake ups have been our norm for a long time but for the last week we have been in sleep hell. I have no idea what's causing it. It has been taking over an hour of crying to go to bed (last night was two), we go in every ten minutes to soothe him. He has been waking in the middle of the night and wouldn't stop crying until we brought him to bed. Last night he slept in his crib til five and that was great. I don't have any issue with bed sharing but I sleep terribly that way.

I don't have any advice but wanted you to know we were in the same sleepy boat :(

  • We put B to sleep around 7 too. We tried 7:30 and it made no difference. He only takes one morning nap about 9:30 am and it can be anywhere from 30 mins to 2 hours but normally 90 mins. I am drinking my weight in cheap wine.
