A little frustrated/confused right now

I am so incredibly annoyed/upset/blah right now.

 

A bit of the back story….  Back when I was at the clinic in town waiting to get my 3 day blood work done, my NP walks past and starts asking me about my consult in Saskatoon.  I tell her that we might go ahead with US’s and trigger shots since we live so far away.  Back then, which is over a month now, my NP said she would get me the name of a clinic about 1.5 hours away which can do the US’s so I don’t have to go the 4.5 hours to Saskatoon (9 hour round trip).  For weeks now myself and Aurora has been trying to get the name of the clinic so that they can find out if the results can be received within a days’ time.

 

Well…… I finally get the clinics name yesterday, Aurora calls to speak with them, and turns out they don’t even offer follicle tracking.  So here I’ve been waiting for the name of a clinic that doesn’t even offer the service we need!!!   So we are back to square one, either using the LH kit and temp tracking, or we have to go all the way to Saskatoon for a 30 min US and then have to go back again for the IUI.  

 

I talked with Aurora, and they want me to start tracking my LH Tuesday morning, first pee of the morning, which I thought was a ‘no-no’ and if I get a faint line to call, and then track again in the evening.  If I get another line in the evening I should call the afterhours number and leave a message.  She asked me how soon we could get there….  I think they want to do the IUI a day after we get a faint line.  I’m waiting to find out confirmation on that as we are emailing each other because I’m at work and can’t call right now.. But still, that seems too soon.  Shouldn’t I get a dark line before trying an IUI?

 

Oi…. I’m starting to stress.

 

Edit:  I just got confirmation.. 'A faint line just means the hormones are starting to be present before ovulation occurs. No need to retest in evening until Thursday if have a faint line early am if cannot come in until Friday. we will just have to see what happens. However if positive on Thursday am or pm plan to come in on Friday. Either notify us Thursday if possible or leave a message for us on Friday am. Plan to leave to arrive by noon.

 

That makes more sense... I was getting so confused.  This whole process is not easy.

Hello! We had a lot of issues tracking LH early on, especially with all the nerves/excitement. Some friends of ours gave us a fertility monitor and it took out a lot of the guesswork. You have to use it for one month of tracking before it will give you an accurate positive, but it is worth it... Ultrasounds are ao expensive and with your drive, you may need to make it multiple times if your follies aren't as big as thy want them to be! It took us a while to get the hang of it... But the more help you have the better!

fertility monitor?  Is that like one of those ClearBlue tests or something completely different?

I can tell you that I always used second pee of the day and it made a big difference my first pee this past cycle no smiley but I had a gut feeling so peed again and got a positive and thank god I did check again because it worked.  Also I highly recommend clearblue digital ovulation trackers.  I got them off of Amazon and saved some money that way but I think it is worth splurging on a more expensive ovulation predictor.   A 4.5 hour drive is so long, I understand your frustration since you thought there was a solution and you were misinformed.

A fertility monitor is something that clear blue easy makes. They are probably around $100-$150 but they are digital and show you a better representation of your surge and when it's coming. Like @doodah1013‌ said, you have to use them a while to get them to accurately track you and the sticks are a little pricey but it was worth it for us!
