TTC After a Loss

TTA check in 7/3

Welcome to the TTA Check in!! This is for anyone who is TTA (trying to avoid), no matter for how long. The check in will be weekly. If you are new, we are sorry you're here and we hope that your stay is short. We have a variety of wait times so please feel free to join. Post an intro and tell us why you are TTA and for how long. It can be waiting on the 1st AF, waiting months, waiting on labs, recovering from surgery, personal reasons, etc. You are more than welcome to join for any reason why you are TTA. Please let me know if you would like to be added or if your information below is incorrect. As the months come to an end, members will be removed. If your TTA has been extended, please let me know. When you are burning the bench unexpectedly, let me know too! *****************************************************
If I removed you in error, please let me know!

Re: TTA check in 7/3

  • Any updates from the week?
    Nothing exciting here.

What was the high/low of the week?
The high has been having the house to myself for a rare change. I'm enjoying the quiet. The low would probably be fighting with my other half about TTC related issues - I want to try, he doesn't. Our relationship has really hit a rough patch with this last loss.

    Any TTA related frustrations?
    See above.

Anything that you're looking forward to this week?
I'm looking forward to the rest of the weekend in quiet. And I borrowed my mom's sewing machine (mine's in getting fixed) so I can start a couple projects and finish one I'd already started.

QOTW: any plans for the weekend?
I have to work two night shifts at the hospital, so nothing too fun here.

  • Hello there ladies,

@jennadesigns‌ I'm sorry. have you guys tried to talk to someone to help you guys try to get on the same page?

New: AF came again this week, so hoping that my beta will finally be negative next time.

High: I have a mentor at work and we had a really good talk this week.

Hoping the weather holds up and we can go to our club for pool party and fireworks.

    AFM:

Any updates from the week? Back to work this week which has been a mixed bag but nothing from the TTA perspective

What was the high/low of the week? Highs- huge support from my department upon my return this week and my promotion finally became official at work.  Lows- just the anxiety about returning to work but it was better than I expected

Any TTA related frustrations? We're still in the waiting for results phase with testing, so just anxiousness of getting some answers

Anything that you're looking forward to this week? three day weekend, enough said

QOTW: any plans for the weekend?  Vegging out and that's about it... and I'm thrilled about it :)

  • littlecookie We haven't tried talking to a counselor yet, but I might consider it. Our biggest hang up is our age difference. DH is 20 years older than I, which hasn't really been an issue up until this point, but now he's unsure he wants to have another at his age. I'm frustrated because he knew this (me wanting more than just the one we have together) going in. You'd think 20 years seems like a big difference, but he's so much like a kid in so many ways that most of the time I don't even think about it.

I'm glad you finally got AF. It's a good feeling ... the waiting was the worst part. I hope your beta comes back at zero!

sunflwra Thank you. Congrats on the promotion and I'm glad your return to work went okay. I went back 3 days after my D&C and it was a little rough, but the women I work with were really supportive, which was nice. Hope you enjoy your three day weekend!

  • @jennadesigns‌ it has to be difficult to not be on the same page. A counselor might be helpful to at least get the two if you talking about it.

@littlecookie‌ fx for a negative beta for you!!

@sunflwra‌ congrats on the promotion. Big hugs as you await results!

High: attending SOs brothers wedding and all the festivities before and after! So much fun!
Low: the exhaustion of being up late and getting up early for above mentioned festivities!

TTA frustrations? My spotting on this pill is driving me crazy! Plus I've been having some migraines and I'm beginning to wonder if it's all related

I'm looking forward to the long weekend with SO and our friends

QOTW we are going to my SILs for a BBQ this evening and then to fireworks! I also think a trip to the pool will be on the horizon this weekend :)

    Big hugs ladies!

  • skategirl128 What kind of pill are you on? I used to be on ortho-tri-cyclen and while I didn't spot, I would get the worst migraines. I tried all kinds of meds for migraines until finally, years later, I realized when I stopped taking the pill, they went away. They could definitely be related. Regarding the spotting, I have taken a progesterone only pill and spotted all the time while taking it, so if that's what you're on, I wouldn't be surprised by the spotting as I understand that's fairly common. Have fun at the pool! I wish I were feeling brave enough to throw on a swimsuit and get some sun!

I am on ortho-tri-cylcen! I noticed the migraines started when I began taking it (September) and they seem to be getting worse! I have had a lot of spotting- in the beginning I had some sort of flow continuously til I leveled out (dr said was normal for up to 3 months). My annual is coming up and I'll discuss this unless these migraines keep up!

  • @skategirl128 I'll bet you anything it's the pill then. I cannot tell you how many doctors I saw about my migraines - my primary doctor, my chiropractor, and finally a neurologist - and how many different medications I took to try and prevent/stop them ... and low and behold when I started TTC in my 20s and went off the pill, they all but went away. I did go back on the pill after my first was born and bam, migraines came right back. I went back off to TTC our second and they came right back. I've decided hormonal birth control doesn't work well for me and I don't use it now. Even the small amount of progesterone in the IUD gave me problems when I had it after my second. Definitely talk to your doctor - are you using the pill to regulate your cycles or for some other reason related to TTC or are you just using it to prevent pregnancy? If it's not something you have to be on and the migraines are driving you crazy maybe you can find another form of BC? Just a thought - I know how wicked migraines can be, so I feel for you.
