I was browsing my Groupon app and came across this. What is the point of a gate if a dog (or a child ) can go go through it?

Weird looking, but it is a pet gate and not for children. I imagine it is for wide doorways so you don't have to physically move the gate every time you let the animal through. It looks like it latches so the dog can't get through without a person opening it. My dog would just ram into it until it fell over, though.

LOL that made me laugh! But yes, most likely for wide doorways with the door in the middle for pets, or even little kids, to go through, so you wouldn't have to take the whole big thing down.

I realize the opening isn't intended for children but if my dd saw the dog gob threw the gate she would do it too if she wanted to get by the gate.

The opening has a gate that closes.  That's so when you are home the dog can roam the house but when you are not and you want the dog contained to a certain part of the house you can close the opening and keep the dog out of the other part of the house.

Well that makes sense. At midnight I couldn't think of a reason for it. Now I feel silly.
