Remembering (dragonfly1809)

I've done a number of things to honour my son, things to remember him by - not just for myself and our family but everyone around us.

I became a member of the Little Free Library organization a few months ago, and ordered a sign for our library dedicated to Finn.
I want to share all the books I would have read to him (not just children's books), the stories he would have grown up with, reference books, even a little Shakespeare, and healing gardening books.. everything.

I hope in some way it keeps his imagination with us, and everyone who enjoys his little library.

We'll be installing it at the end of our walkway near the sidewalk. I can't wait to watch people use it and enjoy it.

We also planted a tree and had a bench installed with Finn's name in my favourite city park.

Lovely.

Our loss was very early, so I haven't had the same type of grief to address.  However, my nephew was born severely brain damaged and with many complications due to a loss of oxygen at birth.  He spent 5 weeks in the NICU.  Last year, for his first birthday, I made a baby quilt to be donated to the NICU in his honor. I plan to do so every year on his birthday.

I love the ways that you have honored your sweet Finn.

I bought a pink bracelet from Etsy with an "A" on it, my friend got us a personalized memorial garden stone and we planted flowers in the backyard for her, and I have made several personalized picture collages & frames from Shutterfly and www.personalizationmall.com (LOVE this site).

What a beautiful, thoughtful way to honor sweet Finn.

My father and I have always wanted to a build a Little Free Library together, even before losing Marianne and my mother. This might be a healing project for us; thank you for the inspiration (((hugs)))

@‌JessicaG220 I love shutterfly too! I made a memory book with as many photos of Finn as I could fit, and I've had some little boxes made with his photo on the cover. I keep the bracelets and lockets I have for him in it when I'm not wearing them.

@maryhr1‌ I have two tattoos for Finn. His foot on my foot with the Chinese characters for "foot overlooking tears" - an acupuncture point near the baby toe. Also his hand ..., and ten little dragonflies for the days he lived.

That is a very beautiful way to remember Finn.

Just thought id share since I also have a dragonfly tattoo for my baby girl that I lost. I was 15 weeks pg with her when I lost her, so we didn't know her at all as long as you got to know Finn, but I still thought it would be cool to share with you.
