I everyone, I just got off the phone with my RE office. I'm currently CD29 and about 13DPO. This cycle I was on 50mg Clomid (for 3rd time) and also did Ovidrel trigger on CD14. They told me I could check for BFP on 7/2 (today). I did take a test today, and it's negative. I called the office to find out what my options are this weekend if I get my period, since I'll be away for the 4th and won't be around for ultrasound monitoring. The convo with the nurse turned into a discussion about my options from here, if I want to continue with Clomid or try something else, etc., and she had to throw in there that 10% of women with secondary infertility will get pregnant again. She said it in a positive way, but I am struggling to see the light at the end of a 10% tunnel! Anyone else feeling like that?
Re: Struggling to find positivity in the statistics
i don't think that is accurate. statistics are so hard to nail down, they are usually pretty off. there are so many variables. my doctor said that doing IUI and clomid takes our chances of conceiving again from 5% per month back up to the normal 25%, so things like that can skew the numbers. just from the time that i have been visiting this board more i think way more than 10% of the contributors have gotten pregnant again.
i don't know anyone else IRL struggling with secondary IF though. i don't know how common it is. most of my friends and family don't believe that it is a real thing; they figure if you had one, you can have another, no problem.
