Trying to Get Pregnant

How many night shift workers?

I'm just wondering how many other night shift workers are around?

Re: How many night shift workers?

  • I'm from  TTCAL, but I like to pop over here on occasion :) I'm usually working until 12 or 2am PST, so when I get off, the boards are asleep.

  • Every morning I wake up around 11am-12pm PST and everything on the Parenting board has been discussed..and I'm looking at the time stamps and most are 6am-8am. I'm sitting here thinking "yeah I was in a sleep coma during all this " ugh Edit: mobile bumping is hard.
Also living in Pacific time zone here... the only way I see 6am is from the wrong side, unless we have a wicked early appt or something else special going on.

Also I hear you on the trials of mobile Bumping; I can only Bump via laptop if kid is being chill or napping, so I do a lot via my phone (mobile site, not app). It's okay but missing a lot of helpful bits from the full site.
  • Just yesterday I realized there was actually an app for TB. I had been doing it the old fashioned way (google via my phone). Life got much easier since downloading it.

  • Late to convo bc I was off last night. I switch to day schedule on my off days. I work 8p-8a with animals. Love my job. It's no unusual for me to crawl into a kennel during the night and snuggle with a patient so they don't feel lonely.

  • I think that is what I'm most sick of now...not seeing DH during the week...being on opposite schedules is very difficult...plus, I'm so tired from working that I tend to sleep much later on the weekends which cuts into that time so I never feel like I have had adequate time off.

I'm cutting back in September when I begin my grad school program...and I'm working on transferring to days as well...I can't wait! Maybe then I won't be late to the party on here either!

This for me too. I love nights. The one drawback is that I don't get to sleep next to H those three nights, but I secretly (or not so secretly) think he enjoys having the whole bed to himself sometimes.. :)

My H works swing so he picks me up in the morning and we normally stay up for an hour or so. I secretly love that time together (I pretend not to, he's super clingy so I have to fight to get and maintain space)
  • I really don't mind nights so much...my commute home can be up to 2hrs so that kills me a bit. And again, I sit in a dark room with just one desk lamp in the corner. So hard to stay stimulated!
