Vacation

Sorry if this has been asked before... My husbands family is visiting later this week but want to go to Cape Cod for a few days. My husband asked that we join them and I said yes without thinking about it now I'm paranoid about staying at a hotel and being away for a few days. Any advice to keep baby healthy?

Re: Vacation

  • My DD1 has stayed in many hotels. (My middle sister used to work for Hilton and hotels were free then.) I have never had a problem. Bring your own PNP, that's what we do.

  • We're leaving today for 3 days, and are staying in a hotel.  Later this month we're taking an 8-hour flight to visit family for two weeks.

I guess I don't see what the problem is.  I think it's safe to say that hotels are at least as clean as my house is (if not cleaner in some cases).  Depending on how close you'll be to a drugstore, you might not even need to pack that much, because if you run out of diapers or forget something, you can just run out and buy whatever you need.

  • We've done that too. Relax and have fun! They don't need that much at this age but I did find it helpful to make a packing list when packing fr vacation and when we left to go home to make sure nothing was forgotten.

Thanks ladies I'll relax on the germs :) Also will bring some commonly used items from home. Glad I have a truck, lol! Oh and I'll have a drink for each of you while hanging by the pool (which is covered from the sun thankfully!)

  • The time to worry about germs is when they are crawling around or running around touching everything and then putting their hands in their mouths. At this point as far as germs go you don't have much to worry about.

Like someone else said the biggest hassle is all of the crap you have to bring but even with that you are better off when they are little because at the oat you have to bring bottles and formula. If you BF you don't have to bring any food! Once they are eating you have to bring snacks, sippy cups, toddler utensils, and then buy food once you get there.

Some hotels offer cribs but you may be better off bringing a RNP or PNP.
