Pregnant after a Loss

Fun with progesterone supplementation

(Back story: So as many of you know I had luteal phase deficiency and then incompetent cervix (and a cerclage) with DD#1.
Of course this pregnancy I am on progesterone and doc just increased the dose....hilarity ensues)

Last night I took the 200mg and then (instead of going to bed like I'm supposed to)...went downstairs to put clothes in the dryer, vacuumed (I don't know what I was thinking, lol) and did some organizing.

Well. As they say in "Pretty Woman"...big mistake. huge.

All of a sudden I found myself so dizzy I had to crawl on all fours up the stairs. Like, room spinning, hold on to the floor. I barely made it to bed. I am not a nauseous or queasy person either and I vomited twice (thankfully I made it to the tile floor).

I called my OB office this morning and they were like you're supposed to take it at bedtime and lay in bed! I was like...well, I didn't realize that within 45 minutes the stuff would try to kill me! ;) The RN thought it was funny. I'm glad I amuse them over there with my shenanigans.

Anyway. PSA: If you're on oral progesterone seriously slow your roll once you have taken those puppies. Not cool. Thank goodness H was home, I could have hurt myself.

  • WOW! I take the suppositories, but they also make my symptoms worse. I am always so sick when I am trying to go to bed.

I am glad you can see the humor in all of it!
