Speaking of pregnant... Updated at bottom

Just got a BFP and this is not exactly welcome news. I just quit my full time job with benefits and started back in school, and we signed up for an Obamacare plan with a $12,500 deductible because it was the least expensive and we never get sick. So now I will have to work nights, go to school, take care of Abigail and be pregnant. Not to mention DH travels for work and is only home 3 days a week. I can't even believe this happened. We seriously have only had sex like ten times tops since Abigail was born. Also, I'm still BF and haven't gotten regular periods back, so I have no idea when this happened or when I'm due. So I'm really scared about everything right now. Thanks for being my sounding board.

  • We are here for you for sure. I think you should definitely take your time to feel all the emotions that you need to feel and do not feel one bit bad about feeling that way. Even when good things happen to us they can be completely devastating if they throw a wrench in our life plans. Hopefully once you see a doctor and figure out how far along you are you will be able to put together some plans on how everything else will look from here (health insurance, school, work, etc).

Thinking of you!  Congratulations, and I bet you'll rise to the occasion with all manner of grace and strength.
  • I was in this mind thought when I was pregnant with Grayson. Alex lost his job when I was about 4 months pregnant and I had a rough pregnancy and wasn't able to work from 5 months on. We ended up having to move in with my family. It's not ideal but we are slowly getting back on our feet. It'll all work out for you guys. Just take one day at a time. Hugs for now and congrats (!!!!) when you're ready for them. We are always here for you whenever you need to vent.

  • Thanks, @LunarMagick79‌, I looked into that and a pregnancy doesn't qualify me for a special enrollment period, it's just when the baby is born. So unfortunately I won't be able to change my plan until open enrollment, which is in November, and the changes wouldn't take place until 2015, which is when we'd be covered anyway. So I'm stuck with the cash price of the appointments until then, unless either I go back to work or Dh's company covers us.

  • Not sure about your finances, but would it be possible to get on state assistance for medical, temporarily?

Also, did you ever go to the Dr. And get a dating ultrasound yet?

It's not a pride thing but we don't qualify for any assistance here. DH has a nice income which is why I was able to quit my job on the first place, but it's also not like we have $12,000 freed up and laying around.

You might think it's a sucky situation- but in all honesty, theirs just never a good time to have a 1st or a 2nd. You will get through the rough part. I just recently found out I was pregnant, I'm a SAHM and we're in a 2 bedroom apartment. Less than ideal, but we can all find support in each other. I'm here if you need to talk!

Edited: forgot to mention I changed my sn- formerly Beary+Ghastly. I was fed up with people not being able to tag me.
