Back - info from last appt

Sorry for the disappearance. I realized I joined the board and not even a week later I went on vacation to go pick up my step son from California. And then  we were all sick with the flu. So I apologize for my 2 week disappearance.

But after my intro, and mostly just after lurking and reading people's stories for a while, I had called my OB and told her that I wanted to have an ultrasound with this cycle of Femara. I had done 3 cycles of Clomid, and now this was my first cycle of Femara, and I had never had any labs or ultrasounds or anything. I didn't really realize I needed them I suppose until I was reading stories here and realized everyone knew a heck of a lot more information (such as about hormone levels and follicles) and I had never even heard these terms used with my OB. So that was frustrating, but I'm happy that I was able to get in for an ultrasound.

I normally start Oing around CD11, so I scheduled my ultrasound for CD10. The largest follicle was 8mm, and she said I needed to have one at least 17mm to get the trigger shot. I got a positive OPK that night, so I don't have a lot of faith this month. My OB said she would like to do one more round of Femara with me and do an US on CD10 as well as CD20, but then after that she is referring me on to the RE.

Some good news I received today though; we switched insurance plans as of today, but while signing up for insurance and picking our plan, I was looking at the benefits and none of them had fertility benefits, which was a total bummer. So I just picked the plan that worked best for our family and that was that. Well today when our benefits actually started I got our full benefit package online from my insurance company...we DO have fertility benefits! They cover at 90% after my Deductible up to $20k per calendar year, and it specifically states that it covers IUI & IVF. So That was a huge relief for me, as our old plan covered fertility, so we were struggling with whether we'd be able to afford the IUI/IVF if our benefits were dropped. So I'm feeling a little less anxious now about seeing the RE.

But I'm going to catch up a bit with everyone's stories. And I just wanted to let you all know I didn't come to just post once and leave! I really do plan on being active on this board, as all of your ladies' stories have been extremely helpful.
