I was invited to a bridal shower at the end of the month. I would love to go but it is an hour away and I don't want to be away from my 7mth old (she is still exclusively nursing) that long. Is it appropriate to ask if I can bring her along?

Re: Can I ask???

  • I asked for one when DD1 was 5 months.  The Mom preferred she didn't attend, so I didn't either.

  • Yeah I need to be prepared for that, but it is at a family members home so I am hoping they will be ok with it. If not so be it.
  • Did you call and ask or email?
  • If you don't want to be away, I would just ask. Friends and family would think it's NBD to ask and if they say no, it's no biggie and if it's yes, even better.

Like @NandaB said, that's getting into everything stage. I would've happily dumped DD on DH for a little time away ;)

  • I would ask. In my family nursing babies are welcome at even otherwise "adult only" events. And my family rarely has events, showers included, where kids aren't more than welcome.

  • Kate doesn't move yet. She just happily sits and chews on toys :)
