Working Moms

Intro

My husband and I have been married for 3 years and just had our first child in May.  He is a little over 7 weeks old. I just started back to work yesterday and am having a really tough time with it.  Does it really get easier?  I cried all day Sunday and yesterday and cried dropping him off this morning.  :-(

Re: Intro

  • It does, I promise :) I still have days when I miss my DD (who is 6 years old) terribly while she's at school or summer camp but kids survive and thrive and have fun. Your son is adorable! And you'll both be fine, I promise.

  • It definitely gets easier momma! We have all been through it. Even those of us who were happy to be back in adult society still dealt with baby withdrawal :) Try to get all the cuddle time you can at nights and on weekends and let ALL other things slide - no cooking/cleaning allowed for you :) Get DH to help, get family to help, outsource things. At least for a little bit - so you feel like you can really relax and enjoy your baby when you are together. And I'm sure he will soon LOVE his caregives and new little friends and it will be a wonderful experience.

  • Thanks for the advice ladies!  I just hate that I had to put him in daycare at 7 weeks and couldn't take off any more time :-(  Plus it didn't help that he cried when I picked him up from daycare yesterday.
