XP: has anyone had popping followed by back pain after lifting?

I went to pick up DS2 last night and had a pop sound in my hip/ or lower left back area followed by a lot of pain. I cannot bend over or sit. I have never had back pan like this and not sure wha to do. I could hardly sleep. I'm going to call my OB, but has anyone experienced this ? dS2 is about 25 lbs and I probably was not lifting correctly. How long does this typically last? Anything that can help with relief? I cannot be off my feet with two toddlers. Yikes!

  • I don't have any advice but I would get with the OB.

When I first read the title I thought it said pooping.....
    Hope you feel better!

  • I probably won't be of much help but I have DAILY popping, multiple times in that general area. Apparently I have "too much" relaxin, yay me, and my pelvis feels like it's shattering. I get some relief from stretches (look up lower back stretches for pregnancy) and I've been to the chiropractor a few times. Chiro provides instant relief but my adjustments never hold because everything is shifting so damn much.
  • It sounds like pelvic girdle pain, also known as symphysis pubis dysfunction. I have it and get a clicking sound from time to time if I overdid exercise or did something to hurt the pelvic area. Rest usually helps it go away a day or two later. Like pp stated, it's caused by your body creating too much relaxin to loosen the joints. A chiro or PT would probably help. I hope you feel better soon!
